Restaurant Maven København

Not my first time here since 2023 and definitely not my last. Everything was beyond perfect from the beginning to the end, starting with the highly professional staff, amenable and to the point. I had the 4-course vegetarian menu, which was a little jewel of flavours, profoundly delicate. As I cannot drink white wine, the waitress made really great recommendations to pair my entire menu with red wines, all of which were excellent, including the French ones, and without any stupid “arrogance”, this is a Parisian speaking from his heart :) The place itself, on the square of St Nicholas’ Church, is totally delightful. Quiet, elegant, welcoming. I strongly strongly recommend Maven and for sure will come back as soon as feasible.

Unfortunately, the waiting time was a big part of the impression. First 10 minutes upon arrival to get in touch with the staff about our pre-booked table. Then a really long wait between the first and second servings, which we had to ask twice to come. Why don't you serve the two pieces of open sandwiches at the same time instead of all that back and forth with waiters? We actually wanted to order more food, but gave up. Instead, two of our party of 6 people wanted coffee and dessert, the coffee came long before the dessert, I had to go to the bar and ask if it would be possible to get the dessert soon before the coffee got cold / was drunk. Finally, we waited 20 minutes to get in touch with the staff to pay. We ended up getting up - and then also waited at the exit to pay. The food was good and nice, but the overall impression is unfortunately not a well-run place. There is not a good workflow in the set up that has been chosen, possibly a lack of good coordination between the kitchen and the service, possibly understaffing in both places, hard to say, but unfortunately probably not a place we will visit again on a Saturday as a gift for a family member. Not entirely nice as a gift giver that it did not go better. The restaurant was well visited, but with empty tables, so not because it was a top-full time when we came. It is a pity that the practicalities are not better arranged for the staff who were constantly doing something but still did not manage to have a good grip on it all. When booking a table online, it is stated that you have the table for an hour and a half. We were there for over two hours. It was definitely not us who pulled it off.

Lovely food but extremely slow service. We wanted to order more but didn't want to wait so ended up leaving. I think it was a mix of the kitchen and the waiters.

We came in for lunch and were immediately greeted by the lovely staff. They had no problem finding a lactose-free solution for my wife. And then we were served the most delicious open sandwiches we have had in a long time. Definitely worth a visit

Good service and cozy atmosphere. Excellent wine, but unfortunately the food was not for me.

We had the pleasure of enjoying the four-course menu at Maven – and were thoroughly delighted. Each dish was a work of art, with a magnificent combination of ingredients, flavors, and textures. The kitchen knows how to give classic elements a modern interpretation, always surprising us. The harmony of flavors was exceptional. An evening at Maven is not just a meal, but an experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking enjoyment, creativity, and atmosphere in perfect balance.

Super delicious food and wine. The service was top notch. We are already looking forward to the next time.
