Absolutely sumptuous meal. Everything was delicious. Extremely professional and nice waiter at our table, who quickly understood our needs. Highly recommended for an evening that should be a little out of the ordinary. We were there on a Friday during the summer holidays, and the place was unfortunately completely empty. Wish it had been packed

The dishes were pretty good overall, and the beef was very tender.

This is fine dining for sure. The dish that I had was so intricately prepared and flavorful! I popped in for lunch on a weekday so I got right in. I would definitely go back.

We had dinner at Salon as a group of seven and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The service was outstanding from beginning to end—professional, attentive, warm, and always one step ahead without ever feeling intrusive. It is exactly the level of hospitality you hope to experience in a fine dining restaurant. The wine list is exceptional, offering an impressive selection of some of the finest wines one could wish for. The wine service and presentation were equally professional and reflected a team with genuine expertise and passion. Every dish—from the starters to the main courses and desserts—was of the highest quality. The cuisine is creative, innovative, beautifully presented, and executed with remarkable precision. Every plate demonstrated great attention to detail and a deep respect for excellent ingredients. The restaurant itself is elegant and creates a wonderful atmosphere. The only minor criticism would be that the noise level can become quite high during a busy evening, perhaps due to the room acoustics and limited sound absorption. However, this did not diminish the quality of the dining experience. Overall, Salon is an outstanding French restaurant. Anyone looking for authentic, refined French cuisine prepared at the highest level will not be disappointed. Both the kitchen and the wine cellar are of an exceptionally high standard and rank among the very best French dining experiences we have enjoyed. We would gladly return. P.S. After reading some of the negative reviews about both the service and the cuisine, I honestly find them difficult to understand based on our own experience. In my opinion, anyone familiar with truly high-end French fine dining will appreciate the level of professionalism, execution, and quality that Salon consistently delivers. Our experience certainly reflected that standard.

The atmosphere was beautiful, and the food was delicious. The white asparagus was in season and was my favorite dish. The steak and wine were also excellent. One thing that stood out was the service. I probably wouldn’t have noticed on my own, but the people I was with, who are familiar with fine dining, said the service didn’t match the price. They mentioned that some of the basic fine dining service standards—such as the order of the dishes, table setting, and overall service flow—felt inconsistent. If you don’t pay much attention to those details, you’ll probably have a great meal. But for a restaurant at this price point, the service could definitely be improved.

Restaurant Salon is obviously a well-known institution in Copenhagen, and I was honestly quite excited to try it. Service was great from the start. The atmosphere is beautiful, the staff are friendly, attentive, and everything runs smoothly. No complaints there at all. But when it comes to the food, I have to say I was quite underwhelmed, especially considering the price level. We started with snacks, including a small toast with langoustine and sauce. The toast itself was very crispy and flavorful, but overall it just wasn’t memorable. It felt like a nice bite, but nothing more than that. Then we had the tartare. The quality of the meat was good, no doubt, but the dish itself was quite boring. It felt like a simple chopped tartare with some oil, served with potato chips. The chips were actually really good, crispy and well made, but the dish lacked depth and creativity. It didn’t really stand out. For the main, I had the signature dish with turbot, lobster, and puff pastry. The puff pastry was honestly incredible. Probably the best puff pastry I’ve had. Super flaky, light, and full of flavor. But the filling itself was quite bland. The fish and lobster were soft and well cooked, but the overall dish lacked depth and complexity. The sauce underneath didn’t bring much either. Even if they were aiming for something light, it just felt flat and uninteresting. We also had bread, and I actually ordered it twice. The bread was outstanding. Amazing crust, airy and soft inside, really, really good. So overall, while there were elements that were executed well, especially the bread and the pastry work, the majority of the dishes felt underwhelming. I’m not trying to bash the place, but considering the reputation and the pricing, the food simply doesn’t match up. Compared to other fine dining restaurants, this felt like it was missing something in terms of creativity and depth. For me, this lands around 3 out of 5, possibly even closer to a 2 when you factor in the price-to-quality ratio. Not a place that left me wanting to come back.

Wonderful restaurant with incredibly delicious food and excellent service. The waiters were truly amazing — everything was just perfect. I highly recommend this place, and honestly, it’s not easy to impress me. ✨🍽️
