Smørgåsen Frederikshavn

This is one of the few best restaurants in Frederikshavn. They serve deluxe variants of the Danish Open sandwich (called 'smørrebrød' in Danish). They also serve a few hot dishes As we were there at Christmas time we ordered smoked duck and pork . Both tasted really great and was indulged with two local beers. The service is great and so are the food. Prices are fair and the atmosphere is always cousy and relaxed. That is why i can very highly recommend this restaurant.

Luxurious sandwiches in the middle of the pedestrian street in Frederikshavn. 107 (!) different schnapps and good beer on tap. Bright premises in the best Danish design. Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. A must.

I had the pleasure of trying a shooting star from Smørgåsen. It was a relatively good experience, but there is still room for improvement. The food was ordered at 1:30 PM and it was served about fifteen minutes later. Quite quickly. First impressions are positive, although there may be a little too much cucumber on it for my taste. I would like both greens and garnish, but please use something else for garnish so that it doesn't seem so overwhelming. If we start at the bottom, you will find a piece of butter-fried wheat bread. Just as it should be. Between the bread and the fish fillet there is some fresh iceberg lettuce. The panko-breaded fish fillets are unfortunately deep-fried. I clearly prefer them to be butter-fried, as it gives a better taste. Fortunately, they haven't been in the deep fryer for too long, so they have become dry. The hand-peeled shrimp are really delicious and in the right amount. The shellfish dressing also has a really good taste. If anything were to change here, I would prefer it to come in a bowl next to it, so I can decide for myself where and how much I want to eat. The 2 asparagus were quite nice and fortunately not the canned kind that I often see. When you test a lot of shooting stars, you will also see that the steaming fish is missing, which belongs to a shooting star. I missed that too. It must be said that it was not listed as an ingredient either. (So technically it is a Stjernekaster) With a price of 169,- such a bandit, it is on the cheap end and could well live up to the price. Therefore, it gets an overall rating of 3.8/5

Combines exquisite open sandwiches with good beer and really customized schnapps from a rich schnapps menu. Soft music and respectful service fit with the overall impression, which is a journey back in time....

Thank you so much for a wonderful lunch with my brothers at the restaurant. The food, service and atmosphere were "second to none" This will definitely be our go-to place when we are in North Jutland. Try it!

Some of the best and most elegantly balanced smørrebrød in all of Denmark.

What a fantastic place. The service was lightning fast and the decor really feels just right and very cozy. We each ordered a sandwich and a bottle of wine and were more than satisfied, and definitely affordable.

With white tablecloths and crystal glasses, all food tastes extra good, but here it wasn't needed.
