A Feast at Spisehuset: Where Hamlet Meets Herring! Ah, Spisehuset i Kulturværftet, that little culinary paradise nestled just a stone’s throw from Kronborg Castle. Yes, you know, the legendary castle that houses the spirit of Hamlet… and maybe a few extra ghosts. For a simple and effective lunch, this place lives up to its reputation! As for the menu, forget the skulls and Shakespearean dilemmas! Here, everything is delicious and hassle-free, allowing you to enjoy a feast fit for a Danish prince without breaking the bank. Who said Scandinavian cuisine couldn’t be affordable? The dishes are a true poem, a “To be or not to be” of taste that I highly recommend you discover. Sun worshippers and shade seekers alike will find their happiness with seating options in full sun or in the shade, depending on your mood. And the view… oh, the view! It’s as spectacular as one of Hamlet’s soliloquies. Between the sprawling harbor and the majestic castle, it’s a real treat for the eyes. In summary, whether you’re a theater lover or just a simple foodie, this restaurant is the ideal place to indulge. So, put on your finest crown (or just your hat) and enjoy a royal moment at Spisehuset i Kulturværftet. Cheers!

Good iced latte, but since I had to pay extra to get it in to-go cup (apparently they decided to pay single use plastics tax), because I wanted to be sure that I would be able to catch the train, I would expect the cup to have any kind of cover, not just being plastic beer cup... It would better be a paper one that is used for hot drinks - at least it would have cover, and it would include less plastic waste. As a result I was unable to bike until I completely drank my coffee and I missed my train 🤷🏼‍♀️

Unfortunately, we got only two meals of three ordered. Hard to say what went wrong. We had to stand in the line again, and we ordered a sandwich as a quick replacement. Fish cutlet with pommes frites did not taste well. There was no cutlery given, and we had to search where to find it. Apparently, there were no forks left. We had to go to the counter again, to stand in the line again and then ask for the forks. There were too many customers, and it was a bit too loud, and messy on the tables.

A good place to have lunch on the way out of Kronborg Castle. I recommend trying Smorrebrod, a typical Danish dish, quite complete from a nutritional point of view. The place is bright, welcoming and not too crowded. The only flaw: with heavy rain the room has several points where water seeps.

My experience was incredible! I confess that I was surprised by the food. I ordered a salmon salad which was wonderful and I want to praise the young blonde attendant who was super friendly to me. Give him congratulations. I don't remember the name? I'm on a trip to Denmark and hope to return before I return.
