Delicious crisped hot dog and delicious soft serve ice cream! The setting is in front of the beach and next to the castle. Wonderful! Public restrooms are nearby.

Perfect for a quick stop and a snack. The ice cream was delicious and large, as were the hot dogs. The price-performance ratio was very good and affordable by Danish standards!

🍦🌊 Strandens Ishus – where the balls are big, and the patience is small 🌊🍦 Strandens Ishus in Sønderborg is really good. They deliver ice cream that can make even a trained ice cream lover sweat, and the balls are so big that you almost want to sign up for Vild med Dans afterwards just to burn them off. The customer service was actually really good – and that's no small feat when you consider that the staff was stuck in a queue so long that you could have built a small motorway along the harbour. At the front stood Mr. and Mrs. Flæskesteg from Denmark and Mr. and Frau Müller from Germany, both steering their children towards the counter as if it were a NATO operation: “JETTZT, JETZT – drei Kugeln mit Guf, SCHNELL!” The most annoying thing? It wasn't actually the waiting – it was standing in line and listening to the adults berating the poor staff because the ice cream wasn't delivered exactly the way they had imagined it would be back home in the caravan. Honestly – we're talking about ice cream, not brain surgery. I almost threw up in my waffle just listening to their whining. But praise must be given where praise is due: the staff took it in stride, the balls were huge, and the taste was right in the cupboard. Rating: 4 out of 5 balls – the last one melted in the line while I listened to Herr and Frau Müller's disgruntled concert.

The ice cream scoops are very large and the ice cream is delicious. We only ate ice cream there. But they also serve hot dogs and other small dishes.

We always eat the soft serve ice cream at Strandens Ice Cream, and of course with "saltet lakrids." The hot dog is also great.

We enjoyed our stop very much: Very friendly staff, super yummy soft ice cream with chocolate sprinkles, the Hotdog was good and the French Fries (Pommes frites) enough for 2 and really delicious 😋. We can highly recommend this place even if you need to wait a bit 😊.
