23/07/2026: We first went there when Curry Leaves had just opened. That was twelve years ago, and we're just as enthusiastic about it today as we were then! Every summer, we plan our sailing trip so that we stop in Sonderborg to eat at Curry Leaves. High quality, truly authentic dishes, superbly spiced, and very friendly service. The hostess is an angel! We recommend choosing the buffet; this is explained so that guests unfamiliar with Indian cuisine can easily find their way around. I sincerely hope this unique restaurant will be around for a long time to come!

23/07/2026: If I could only give 5 stars, I would give 10. Are you in Sønderborg and do you like Indian food? So, really authentic Indian food with lots of flavor, spices and love in the pots, then you should visit Curry Leaves. My husband had tried the place about a month ago with his partner, so when the chance arose, and our family tour took us past Als, among other places, there was no doubt where we should eat. We chose à la carte with both a starter and a main course for all four of us, and no one left disappointed. The starters were too wild and a true explosion of flavor. Before the main courses were served, we even got a small taste test so we could assess whether the strength was just right, or if the dish needed to be adjusted. It is service and thoughtfulness that can be felt. And then the main courses arrived… There was really a lot of food, and we simply couldn't finish it, even though we really wanted to. The kids are still pretty new to Indian cuisine, but they were crazy about their butter chicken. The rest of us had chosen some of the stronger dishes, and there was definitely a lot of spice in them. But the strength in no way overpowered the many spices and flavor nuances. It was strong in exactly the right way and not just strong for the sake of being strong. It is without a doubt the best Indian food I have ever had in Denmark, and that is quite a lot! We didn't try the buffet, but their à la carte and you won't regret it 😉 Welcome 😉

07/08/2026: During a day trip to Sønderborg, my wife and I were looking for a cozy spot for coffee and stumbled upon this gem. Don’t be fooled by the narrow storefront—the café stretches all the way to the back and even features a charming little patio! We sat outside and enjoyed a cappuccino, a hot chocolate, and a cinnamon roll. Everything tasted fantastic. If I ever opened my own café, this is exactly the vibe I’d aim for. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Sønderborg!

07/08/2026: A little oasis in Sonderborg! We enjoyed our cappuccino in the garden and were delighted by the lovingly designed courtyard. The ambiance inside was also very beautiful and stylish. Highly recommended.

07/06/2026: Can only say WAUW!! Absolutely fantastic experience. Everything was well thought out and they took care of all the details. We celebrated a big birthday a few weeks before and of course that was also noticed. The experience started already in the foyer, where a waiter picked us up and we got the first serving in the elevator up. After 5.5 hours we left happy, full and full of impressions with a little goodie bag from Syttende for us. WAUW.

29/05/2026: A fantastic restaurant in Sonderburg. Every time I dock my yacht in the port of Sonderburg, I go there. My guests also love the food. Highly recommended, but don't forget to make a reservation.

16/05/2026: Breakfast at Ballebro Færgekro. A very special experience. You are greeted with a smile at the reception, the table is ready, the bread is freshly baked and still warm, egg muffins, pancakes, homemade jam and good stories. Everything is delicious. The view is priceless and the hotel has been restored as if it were brand new and 150 years old. Even on a rainy day you can't help but smile. We will definitely come again.

18/07/2026: The service was good and the food tasted excellent, but the dessert was a big disappointment; it was just a crème brûlée without any ice cream or fruit – unlike other places where it is usually served with these accompaniments. 🍓🍦🫐

07/07/2026: What a special experience. On our trip to Denmark, we stopped by Café Fika a few times. You are warmly welcomed in a very cozy setting. Not your average café. A unique yet beautiful interior and staff who do this with passion. Delicious flavors, and everything fresh and made on the spot. Highly recommended! It is best to reserve your spot on the day itself! Even the prices are very reasonable for these delicious, fresh works of art. Enjoy!

He did an amazing job telling us about the different dishes and how the flavors work together, as well as providing us a couple of recommendations that were fantastic. We love the atmosphere. The service was amazing and the view was fantastic.!

14/07/2026: Standing in front of the store. Should be open but is closed. No notice on the door. No info on the Facebook page, either. Gave them a ring but the machine says they are busy in the store, hence, I should try again later. PATHETIC

14/04/2026: After exploring Sonderborg in the morning, we decided to have lunch at Cafe Kjukken. It is a modern, bright, and cozy cafe, right next to the library. Large windows offer a view of the wide waters of the fjord that runs through Sonderborg. We ordered an iced coffee, a decaffeinated coffee, and rye bread with fish fillet, shrimp, lettuce, roe, and mayonnaise. The taste, freshness, and presentation of the plate were fantastic. The service was friendly, humorous, and knowledgeable—top-notch. The value for money is good. A wonderful lunch for us in Sonderborg.
