Sushi Anaba København

Sublim - exceptionel - and yet so unbelievable simple! Sushi Anaba was everything we dreamed it would be. Guided by quiet mastery, chef Mads Battefeld crafted each piece with intent — not to impress, but to express pure, uncompromising perfection & tradition. We were blown away! Why this hasn’t 1 or 2 Michelin stars, is still a mystery, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is one of Copenhagen’s best food experiences!

Great place to eat for Sushi lovers. The best sushi in DK is served here in the intimate old customs building at Nordhavnen.

Overall nice experience at the counter, mesmerized, as always, by the cutting of fish.. whether herring or tuna, this discipline deserves an uncommented youtube channel.. Food was great and ambience was beautiful, almost serene. We (4 people) all agreed missed some variety to the nigiri on rice with brown vinegar base. A white wine served between sakes seemed to be squeezed in for the sake (!) of it but felt way too sour among the fatty fish and mellow sakes. We also missed some engagement from the itamae who didnt really take charge of the experience and we needed to ask about servings. All in all, good but some room for improvement.

Authentic perfection: every other place serving sushi in Denmark will present you with salmon caught 2000 miles from Copenhagen, tuna with highly variable quality and "white fish". Not so at Sushi Anaba: here the fish is carefully sourced in Scandinavia only, and prepared just in front of you. If you want Sushi the Edomae way, as prepared in Tokyo, with every detail explained there's simply no one else in Denmark willing to go the distance. EDIT (Dec 2024): 12th visit before location change. Still fantastic.

Comimos en Alchemist (# 8 en el mundo, 3 estrellas Michelin) y Kadeau (# 54 en el mundo, 2 estrellas Michelin). Y ambos pensamos que la mejor comida era en Sushi Anaba. Obviamente es una experiencia muy diferente, pero si quieres comer algo del mejor sushi que jamás tendrás, no te decepcionará. Sobresaliente en todo el sentido de la palabra.
