The South Indian København

Good food. Chettinad lamb biryani and ghee parotta were very good. Other items were moderate. Medhu vada was very much average.

Every once in a blue moon, I get the craving for a South Indian breakfast - and this seemingly is the only spot in Copenhagen. The ambience is pretty nice, and it's a great place for a Sunday brunch. I had a vadai and a podi dosa. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the vadai at all, it was very spongy and had a very off-putting texture. The dosa on the other hand was decent.

Absolutely delicious South Indian food. We had the masala dosa, vidai and the traditional family lamb dish. The vidai were so incredibly crispy from the outside! Our South Indian friends recommended it and we did not get disappointed. It was really good food! Service was very friendly as well. Happy to go back any time and try some other dishes from the menu.

Delicious food, really. A shame they don't take encough pride in their surroundings though! The signs outside are broken , the windows are so dirty, they could take better of the place 😜

clean. pleasant atmosphere. very good food. The samosa was deliciously baked and with good content (and not overcrowded as is often the case). the flatbreads are nice and crispy.

Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at The South Indian Restaurant, a welcoming establishment that offered a delightful culinary adventure into the vibrant flavors of South Indian cuisine. My family and I were eager to explore the extensive menu and indulge in authentic dishes prepared with passion and expertise. Our gastronomic journey began with a selection of starters that tantalized our taste buds. The Mango lassi, a refreshing blend of yogurt, mangoes,, provided a sweet and tangy burst of flavor. The mojito, with its zesty lime and minty freshness, was a refreshing choice. Next, we embarked on a savory adventure with chicken lollipops, crunchy morsels of chicken coated in a flavorful batter and deep-fried to golden perfection. The masala dosa, a large, thin crepe made from fermented rice and lentil batter, was a culinary masterpiece. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, it was generously filled with potato masala, creating a harmonious blend of textures and flavors. The egg dosas, another South Indian specialty, were equally impressive, their fluffy texture and scrambled egg filling providing a satisfying contrast to the crispy dosa. As we delved into the main courses, the Chettinad chicken masala, a fiery dish brimming with aromatic spices, while flavorful, didn't quite meet our expectations. However, the Lamb Sukka,quickly redeemed the meal. The tender lamb pieces, infused with the symphony of spices,. To complement the main courses, we opted for Butter Paronthas, fluffy roundbreads. I appreciate the service provided by the staff. (Five Stars for the service) This restaurant is quite expensive but a good option for special occasions.

This place used to be lovely. Eventually i think it got sold and the quality dropped a bit, we can't find some of the classic stuffs like rasam etc. Overall even then, the place is fairly nice, the waiters are ok. I truly hope that they reach the level they were pre covid. This is one of my favourite food place in copenhagen. There vegetarian options as well available.
