18/08/2025: Tonight we went here for a second time without a reservation because we enjoyed it so much yesterday. The steak with delicious potatoes, burger, fish and chips, and especially the plaice were delicious! Simple food as it should be—superb! The staff is very friendly, and the terrace with a sea view is well-organized and cheerfully decorated. It's sunny, but it looks very cozy inside for colder days. Definitely recommended! If we weren't going home tomorrow, we would have come back a third time.

29/07/2025: I was here for the first time in 2018 and ate the best plaice of my life at the Hirtshals Kro (and as a fish eater, I've eaten a lot of plaice). Today, 7 years later, I was back and I have to say that the plaice is still very good. Not as good as I remember, but you always have to remember that we're talking about marine life here, and every fish can taste different. The fish and chips were definitely better in the past. Especially because people have a different understanding of what fish and chips means. Please do it again like it was in 2018.
