Yes, Nyhavn is a tourist trap, but if you want some Danish cuisine, you will find plenty of options in the area. Ved Kajen delivers, their smørrebrød is traditional and well made. Pair it with a brown ale and a shot of akvavit, then sit back and soak in the charm of this beautiful city.

Super cozy restaurant in Nyhavn - we had nice Fish & Chips and a couple of beers.

This small restaurant on the canal, (the name means "at the quay"), has fantastic food, & very enthusiastic servers from around the world. We ate inside & very much enjoyed our: lobster bisque, calamari, salmon, "chicken burger", and carpaccio were excellent. (Carpaccio could use capers & onion cubes, but the quality was fresh enough I didn't mind). It seemed people came just for the food. We sat inside (warmer), but very quaint, comfortable seating outside, with many ways to stay warm: fireplaces in glass, electric heaters, & blankets. We went in December. Note: their bar is small. They are well stocked in wine, & the various international coffees (w alcohol). But if you desire a mixed drink, there are other places on the street better stocked for that. Enjoy the food, the ambience & the scenery.

An average restaurant, it can be a good option when you can't find anywhere else to go

Yes it’s a bit pricy however you soon realise that most if not all the restaurants in this area are similar, the important thing is that the food was good, the beer was cold and the service was excellent.

The drinks here are good - the service is terrible and you can do more with the ambience right on the water.
It took 5 minutes until we were served - the waiters didn't notice us before. Even later we had to wait a long time until they finally responded to our “wave”.
The drinks we drank were good - both the draft beer, the mulled wine and the hot chocolate.
The price is upscale - a mulled wine costs around €10 here. There are better shops in the immediate vicinity.

The place is very well located.
Come early to get a table. The outdoor terrace is heated with blankets available and the interior is very typical.
The dishes were good and plentiful for the hamburgers.
The service a little longer because a lot of customers
