Salvo is a wonderful host and his pizzeria is outstanding.
I'm Italian and I do not generally eat pizza when traveling.
But i do love eating at la Piccolina because I know I'll find top ingredients and top quality food like the one I'm used to in my own country.
Grazie Salvo, ad maiora !

11/02/2026: 2 meals, two courses, salad and 2 glasses of wine for 1200 kroner.
The place is centrally located in Aarhus and you are welcomed by polite and fast waiters.
The place is cozy but the noise level is very loud.
The food and the price do not match, although the food tastes excellent, but there is little to justify the price.
22/12/2025: I ate alone (tartare, profiteroles and lots of wine) and the woman who served me (a young woman with dark hair and bangs) was simply so nice, sweet and lovely). As a solo diner it often happens that you become a bit "invisible", but she was so attentive and careful. The food was as good as the rumors said, but the service was just excellent. Thank you very much.

21/12/2025: The food was delicious, we went for the 3-course Menu. Ceviche, duck and icecream.
The servings were sufficiently portioned so that we didn‘t leave the place hungry.
We were the first guests to arrive and were placed in the center of the room which felt awkward, especially as more cozy tables were still empty when we left.
Service was friendly and attentive.

Masser af lækkerier, frisk juice og kaffe for kr 150,- 😳👌🚀
01/06/2025: Maden (vi fik en BMO) og kaffen var rigtig god, og derfor vin jeg gerne komme igen. Men jeg er ked af den service vi fik. Vi sad ved et bord som ikke var tørret af og selvom vi havde spurgt om at rådner tørret af og pigerne gik forbi flere gange blev det ikke gjort. Da hun så kommer med vores bestilling siger vi igen at vi mangler at få bordet tørret af, hvortil hun snerper og siger jaja jeg skal nok gøre det. Så kommer hun med en klud efter vores mad er sat på bordet og tørrer det vredt af, rundt i kanterne, så bordet stadig er beskidt og der ligger krummer. Virkelig træls oplevelse. Det havde ikke taget mange minutter at tage det bord ad med det samme. Det var så beskidt at vi ikke kunne have hverken tlf eller arme på bordet.

16/01/2026: Super cozy place down by the water, where you can enjoy coffee or light meals with a view of the marina.
The atmosphere is relaxed, and it's a perfect stop on a walk along the harbor.
07/01/2026: Very cozy place, where we came into the warmth on a cold day, had hot cocoa with whipped cream and could look out over the water and the harbor while the boat rocked a little every time people got on the boat.

04/01/2026: Mediocre food and poor service. Fried kale was so salty it was inedible. Not the best atmosphere - white tablecloths on the tables covered with plastic placemats. For that price (250-300 per person) you should rather go to other similar restaurants in Aarhus.

05/01/2026: Nice restaurant in a beautiful harbor setting. It is located on the first floor with a good view of the area to the south.
I had the pleasure of trying their smørrebrød.
In that context, I became acquainted with the following:
The house tartar. A slice of rye bread with plenty of beef, a slice of pickled cucumber, cress and pepper root. Not mixed with mustard or garnished with capers.
The house breaded fish fillet. Placed on a bed of lettuce with a small dollop of remoulade and half a cherry tomato.
The 3rd piece looked like the vet's night meal. It consisted of sliced meat with a little "salad" - a dollop, cress, half a mini tomato and a little cheese. I did not find the liver pâté.
The food did not fully meet my expectations.

16/06/2025: Nydelig mat! Veldig god carpaccio til forrett og en stor porsjon med perfekt tilberedt oksekjøtt til hovedrett. Crispy chips og en luftig bernaise som gjorde dette til en svært god opplevelse. Vi fikk også en god start med bobler og dansk flagg på bordet! Hyggelige priser og store porsjoner med mat.
14/06/2025: Maden var god, servicen og stemningen i top, priserne rimelige. Men akustikken var elendig og gjorde det svært at høre, hvad sidemanden sagde. Jeg kunne godt finde på at booke her igen, men så ville det være på en af de roligere dage… måske i dagstid.

15/12/2025: Christmas lunch on December 13, 2025. Reserved table for 6:30 p.m., 9 people. The only drinks available were soda and non-alcoholic bottled beer, as the draft beer system was apparently not working. Beer on the table at about 6:25 p.m., food at about 6:30 p.m. - 1 hour after arrival!
They save on food - for example, 2 pieces of herring/person. Small fish fillet of an indeterminate type. The mains: rib roast, meatballs really good, the side dishes looked like potatoes from a jar and just warmed up, less than a small spoonful of sauce/person. The only highlight - risalamande, perfect.
14/12/2025: Really good food, unfortunately there were too few waiters for the many guests, so there was a long wait and no service.

10/01/2026: A little hidden star in Aarhus!
We have visited the restaurant several times - both as a couple and with friends. Last time we had the Dauphine Signature menu incl. wine menu. It was a fantastic experience - a coordinated menu with high quality wine - no expense spared. Relaxed environment - High end French bistro vibe.
Highly recommended if you want a special experience. Sit back and enjoy. Value for money!!

11/12/2023: We were going to hold an event at the café in November. The buffet was excellent, but much of the food was store-bought food that was simply heated. A bit disappointing. The service from the youth workers was quite nice, but the service from what I assume is the owner was apathetic. No interest in providing any kind of service. We got the impression that we were a nuisance by coming. We certainly won't bother organizing anything there again. Our guests also commented that she was rude - both to them, but also to her employees. The youth workers also seemed to be a little "afraid" of her. At one point she was sitting at a table next to the bar with some friends, directing the youth workers what to do. That's not a particularly good signal to send to your guests.
09/12/2023: My boyfriend and I had called the café to see if we could use our smartbox at their place. Our smartbox was for brunch for 2 people. We were told by an employee on the phone that it was valid for both people and that we could just come down and have brunch and then "pay" with our smartbox. When we had eaten and were going over to "pay", they suddenly wanted us to pay 189 kr for the food. My boyfriend and I said that we had called and were told that the smartbox was valid for both of us. So we did not want to pay. After some time of discussing with the employees, we were allowed to leave without paying anything else.
It's a shame that it will ruin our experience. We will never buy a smartbox again or go to that café.
