11/02/2026: 2 meals, two courses, salad and 2 glasses of wine for 1200 kroner. The place is centrally located in Aarhus and you are welcomed by polite and fast waiters. The place is cozy but the noise level is very loud. The food and the price do not match, although the food tastes excellent, but there is little to justify the price.
22/12/2025: I ate alone (tartare, profiteroles and lots of wine) and the woman who served me (a young woman with dark hair and bangs) was simply so nice, sweet and lovely). As a solo diner it often happens that you become a bit "invisible", but she was so attentive and careful. The food was as good as the rumors said, but the service was just excellent. Thank you very much.

15/12/2025: Christmas lunch on December 13, 2025. Reserved table for 6:30 p.m., 9 people. The only drinks available were soda and non-alcoholic bottled beer, as the draft beer system was apparently not working. Beer on the table at about 6:25 p.m., food at about 6:30 p.m. - 1 hour after arrival! They save on food - for example, 2 pieces of herring/person. Small fish fillet of an indeterminate type. The mains: rib roast, meatballs really good, the side dishes looked like potatoes from a jar and just warmed up, less than a small spoonful of sauce/person. The only highlight - risalamande, perfect.
14/12/2025: Really good food, unfortunately there were too few waiters for the many guests, so there was a long wait and no service.

08/03/2026: We were four people - and had been looking forward to a good experience! It wasn't. There is no reasonable relationship between price and quality - not to mention quantity. ONLY visit Dauphine if you are NOT hungry. In particular, the main course was smaller than expected or a child's portion. with COLD small pieces of Jerusalem artichokes. The squash course tasted bad - to my taste. The dessert tasted good - but the lentil base was poor and probably bought in a supermarket. Dear Dauphine: I don't think you can be familiar with it. Not at all harmony between price, quantity and quality. Regretted we had driven almost 200 km - to visit you regards. peder kirkeby
21/02/2026: Had read the good reviews and chose Dauphine for our trip out to the Aarhus food scene in connection with Dining Week. Unfortunately, the evening was characterized by the need to rush through, and that the chosen menu should be easy to reheat and serve. The starter was not balanced - large temperature differences between the cold and the hot on the plate, the main ingredient, a "salmon terrine" of some kind, had not been out of the fridge long enough. The main course was unacceptably small, but otherwise tasty. The dessert was quite ok. But again, the feeling that it was just a matter of serving pre-cooked food prepared for the hordes permeated the experience. Unfortunately, the service was not good either. We were received by a man who was clearly not used to being in the restaurant (kitchen?), he barely said hello, did not point out a wardrobe in the somewhat narrow space, was not present and was in a hurry to move on, could not advise on a simple level regarding the choice of wine, "it was a white wine", no one ever asked if it tasted good or if it was satisfactory, no one came and asked if the drinks needed to be refilled, a woman suddenly came and cleared the table and reached over us without a single expression, no words, no one said what was going to happen next (pre-ordered 3-course menu). We approached the serious draft from the window facing the street, where we were sitting right up and down. The winter weather was really taking hold, but we asked nicely if it was possible to get another table, because it was raw cold for the legs to sit up against a leaky window at full height. It was swept away pretty quickly without making an impression. I don't usually write reviews, and am usually pretty generous as long as people make an effort and/or are nice and friendly, and the food is reasonable, but the whole experience just wasn't good and we couldn't finish fast enough. We won't be coming here again, although a regular a la carte evening is probably a different experience.

11/12/2023: We were going to hold an event at the café in November. The buffet was excellent, but much of the food was store-bought food that was simply heated. A bit disappointing. The service from the youth workers was quite nice, but the service from what I assume is the owner was apathetic. No interest in providing any kind of service. We got the impression that we were a nuisance by coming. We certainly won't bother organizing anything there again. Our guests also commented that she was rude - both to them, but also to her employees. The youth workers also seemed to be a little "afraid" of her. At one point she was sitting at a table next to the bar with some friends, directing the youth workers what to do. That's not a particularly good signal to send to your guests.
09/12/2023: My boyfriend and I had called the café to see if we could use our smartbox at their place. Our smartbox was for brunch for 2 people. We were told by an employee on the phone that it was valid for both people and that we could just come down and have brunch and then "pay" with our smartbox. When we had eaten and were going over to "pay", they suddenly wanted us to pay 189 kr for the food. My boyfriend and I said that we had called and were told that the smartbox was valid for both of us. So we did not want to pay. After some time of discussing with the employees, we were allowed to leave without paying anything else. It's a shame that it will ruin our experience. We will never buy a smartbox again or go to that café.
