24/07/2025: ★☆☆☆☆ A culinary disaster – Jacobs Durumbar in Frederikssund should be avoided at all costs If you've ever wanted to pay overpriced for a semi-cold durum filled with disappointments and a splash of indifference, then Jacobs Durumbar is the place to be. Calling it "food" is an insult to food in general – this was more of a textural exercise in limp salad, dry meat mass and something that may have once been gravy. Service? What service? The staff seemed either newly awake or downright offended that you allowed yourself to order anything. Smile? Forget it. You almost feel like a nuisance from the moment you walk in the door until you leave with your stomach half full and your spirits at rock bottom. Hygiene: Let's just say that if the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration came by, it wouldn't end with a happy smiley. The floor was greasy, and the tables clearly looked like they hadn't been wiped down since 2018. You almost want to bring your own cleaning supplies. The taste? Imagine cardboard and rubber – and then take some of the flavor out of it. And we're close. The spices were either non-existent or dumped in random places in the durum, and the salad had the texture of wet paper. All in all: Jacobs Durumbar is the perfect place to visit if you want to regret your life choices. Save yourself the disappointment – go home and make a fried egg instead. It will taste better, cost less, and be a much more satisfying experience.
