From the moment we entered, the room radiated warmth: Scandinavian minimalism with a soulful, almost sacred calm. Every detail, from the single flowers in a clay vase to the design-classic stoneware, spoke of quiet dedication. The food? Simply extraordinary. • Ravioli with Ricotta & Cavolo Nero – hand-crafted pockets, so delicate and clear in flavour, the nutty, earthy kale filling lifted by subtle acidity. Truly flawless pasta. • Beef tartare from Engmosegaard – finely cut, seasoned with elegance, melting into the most balanced herb mayo, finished with paper-thin crispbread: among the best tartares we have ever tasted. • Wild mushroom toast with Semmel-Stoppelpilz – creamy forest richness absorbed by rustic bread, accompanied by a vibrant salad. A dish that tastes like a woodland walk. • Charcuterie – house-aged Salsiccia and Culatello, deeply flavoured, quietly masterful. The drinks matched this standard: a natural French Pinot Noir, perfectly paired; and a house-made kombucha with figs, coconut and a whisper of cinnamon – fragrant, alive, unforgettable. Brilliant jazz floated through the room, the host speaking of the musicians with the same passion he invests in his kitchen. His kindness and humility made us feel deeply welcome. Torup Spisehus is not just a restaurant – it is an experience woven from food, music, design, and heart. A place of rare beauty and generosity.

16/07/2026: "Drop by" as the name implies is a good spot to gather goodies, eat goodies and explore a lovely neighbourhood towards the sea. The delicatessen is well stocked with edibles from near and not so near, and has quite a range of homewards and drinks. The cafe does a solid job of offering a meal or snack that range from good (filled rolls) to very good (pasta salad and salad). Ypu need to order inside and they deliver. The coffee gets a special mention as satiafying my super fussy palate. The team are delightful. Well worth your visit.

30/08/2026: Their shooting star for 179 kr was unfortunately a disappointing experience. Ok fish fillets, but it all sailed in Thousand Island dressing.

01/11/2025: I've stopped coming here. Their opening hours are so unstable that you never know when they're open or closed. When they finally are open, you have to order via an app - even though you're standing right in front of the staff. It seems both cumbersome and impersonal. Their ice cream machine almost never works, and it's quite disappointing when you've been looking forward to an ice cream. The food is okay (a little too salty sausage mix), but otherwise excellent. Unfortunately, that's also the only positive thing.

29/10/2025: The best place in North Zealand Where you get the best Pork steak sandwich and Burger also all the other food they have super good Pork steak sandwich only 65 kr is cheap service is also great every time New with new owner Simon and it is just as good as it was before Simon has worked under the old owner he does it well (I only see a small problem when you stand in line for 18 minutes and see all those who have ordered online come before you so fun it is better not to stand in line😪so all 4 of us left again without buying😪) get the problem solved I know you are busy sometimes.

28/07/2026: Fantastic pizzeria with delicious food and good service. The pizzas are always fresh, tasty and made with good ingredients. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and orders are ready quickly. There is a cozy atmosphere, and you always feel welcome. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good pizza!

12/07/2026: Good idea, lovely people, super unprofessional. Had booked a table, but couldn't get food, because I should have ordered it from home - and I should have guessed that myself. Had to go somewhere else to eat. No service at the tables, you have to pay after each drink. More like a canteen at a rest area than a cafe. But...! Run by enthusiasts, super good atmosphere, very diverse guests, room for children, animals and wheelchairs.

03/08/2026: My son and I ordered a fish and chips takeaway. After 15 minutes I took the liberty of asking if they had forgotten us, as there were several people who had arrived later than us and had received their food. The person we ordered from had no memory of us and asked confusedly who we had ordered from. I said we didn't have time to wait any longer and asked for our money back. This resulted in a mysterious attempt to intimidate me. A threatening man now arrived from the kitchen, scowling and growling that it wasn't McDonald's (I don't know what he meant by that line). I continued to ask for a refund, I was told they couldn't refund to a card, to which I replied that cash would be fine. Some of the staff escorted the threatening chef into the kitchen and an employee conjured up cash from the till, so I got my money back. I will never set foot there again and will warn everyone I know about the place.

01/08/2026: Good fish fillets, a good glass of rose wine, smiling friendly service, we'll be back, I'll definitely try their shooting stars which look so big and delicious.

27/07/2026: I am honestly speechless. I have a summer house in the area and come to Liseleje regularly. This time I went in to buy a coffee and brought my 10-year-old daughter. She had bought an ice cream somewhere else – Michael’s does not sell ice cream. I ordered a coffee and while we waited we sat on a bench outside (not at one of the café’s tables). Shortly after, an employee came out and told us that we were not allowed to sit there with “brought-in food”. The result was that they cancelled my coffee purchase and we left without coffee. I completely understand that a café does not want people to bring lunch or coffee from other places and take up their seats. But sending a paying customer away because a child has an ice cream in their hand that the café does not even sell itself shows a complete lack of situational awareness and sound business sense. I subsequently read other reviews describing the same very rigid approach – including a cyclist being asked not to drink water from his own water bottle while waiting for his coffee, and a review of having to pay for water for a dog. Unfortunately, this leaves the impression that this was not an isolated incident. As a holiday home owner in the area, I had expected to be a repeat customer, but of course I will not be. Losing a paying repeat customer because of a 10-year-old with an ice cream is, in my opinion, an exceptionally bad business decision. The coffee may be good, but customer service and sound business sense were non-existent today. Update after the company’s response: Offered to regret/cancel, isn’t that the same thing? What was the alternative, sending my daughter away while I was drinking coffee. And your employee is not telling you the whole story; I literally told the person, “It’s an ice cream, and you don’t serve ice cream?” - “Never mind, we serve other good things” was the response from your employee. I maintain that your decision was hasty and bad business sense :-)

02/08/2026: Bad food, pad Thai was boring, red curry dish was tasteless, we chose between spicy, but it is obviously Danish Spice level, even though it is a Thai restaurant. My chicken skewers were dry and tough, no taste and there was a hair in it, cannot be recommended. All the good reviews are obviously from people without taste buds. The place is an open kitchen, so you can hear everything the employees say, and the manager made a crazy comment during our visit, he said to the female waiter, something like “you should just know what me and the wife are doing at home”… Very crazy comment to make when customers can hear it all.

02/08/2026: Okay, is it Thai food? Well, it tastes more like Thai-inspired Danish food, and that's to be expected in a smaller town.
