28/10/2024: We were 3 people in to eat today until evening. It was simply absolutely fantastic food, really cozy, and super service. Can really be recommended.

25/10/2024: The Teddy Bear Museum provides a very nice and calm counterpoint to the Lego attractions that already tax the senses. The exhibition rooms are in the former villa of Godfred Christiansen and his family - it is very pretty and lovingly displayed and shows many teddy bears of all kinds and from all times. The beautiful, bright cafeteria invites you to linger and relax and serves drinks and small meals. In summer you can sit outside - the surrounding park is also beautiful and worth a walk. In the shop there are teddy bears and building instructions as well as materials for making teddy bears yourself - workshops also take place. There is also a painting and play area for children. Everything is barrier-free including the toilet, cafeteria and garden. The architecture of the villa alone is impressive, the place is very well maintained (including the garden). The staff is friendly and helpful. Flyers with explanations are available in several languages. The visit is highly recommended.🧸

25/10/2024: We stayed here as two adults without children with one room per person for five nights. We enjoyed it very much. The Refborg is very pretty, very authentic and overall lovingly run by private individuals. Therefore it is neither a business hotel nor a resort hotel. The interaction is friendly and very familiar. It is very cozy in Refborg. The rooms are not huge, I didn't need them, they really had everything you needed: comfortable beds, clean, pretty bathroom, tea maker, desk... It's an older style hotel, which contributes a lot to the coziness and well-being. If you are looking for a business hotel, as mentioned above, you may not get your money's worth here. Particularly noteworthy is the lovely breakfast, which is also nicely laid out and has lots of nice things. There is no espresso, but it is generally not common in Denmark. Another plus is the location, 1 minute to the grocery store, 5 minutes to the House of Lego, just under 8-10 minutes to the restaurants. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed during our holiday week, so I can't say anything about it, but if it's open it seems like a tip. Overall really recommended!

29/10/2024: Really nice restaurant and friendly staff. We had the bacon cheeseburger and the Jack Daniels burger. Both were fantastic and quite big. The fries were also really good. Just the burgers coke Zero and water cost $100 Canadian so definitely very pricey for us but didn't seem out of norm for the area. Still think charging for tap water is crazy but until locals demand otherwise this won't change!

16/10/2024: The location of the hotel with private access to Legoland is ideal. Areas for playing Legos throughout the hotel were very popular with our children. Legos placed on the children's bed when we arrived. An outdoor play area that isn’t very big but does the job. The rooms, however, are very outdated. The dangerous bunk bed with unsecured sharp corners. The rooms are not soundproofed at all: noises coming from the corridor, surrounding rooms or even pipes all evening. No service, self check-in, it was up to us to find the way to our room (which was not that easy) or access to the park alone. Considering the price paid for the hotel night, they could make an effort (and renovate the rooms). The hotel restaurants are expensive but OK. About €150 for 2 adults and 2 children at the “château” restaurant.

21/10/2024: Nice big rooms. Good location to walk into Billund and lego house/legoland on doorstep. Billund is extremely quiet and not a lot going on other than the main tourist attractions. Hardly anyone about in the town which is 20min walk away. Staff at hotel very good, but hardly any of them. One person only ever one person to run reception, the bar, check people in and deal with room issues. So try as they might they can't do it all and waiting around while a queue forms was very frustrating as they try to check people in and serve the bar and snackshop at same tme. Restaurant only open at breakfast which is also odd given that hotel stands alone with no other food or retail outlets nearby. So it's decent place but let down by not enough people to run it.
