Many Michelin star restaurants offer a prix fixe menu where you may be less than thrilled on some of the dishes you will get, but Formel B offers you to select any five dishes from the menu which contains appetizers, entrees, desserts and you can select any combination. I chose one appetizer, two entrees, and two desserts while my husband had three entrees and one dessert. The entrees and desserts seemed equally sized. We both enjoyed the salted hiramase which is a creamy clean fish that came out elegantly presented in a rose shape. I got the roasted langoustine with pickled pumpkin, orange, and vadouvan followed by the Danish beef tartar with kale, pickled red currant, crispy sourdough and olive sauce. The desserts were the Blood orange with pistachio and sour cream with timut pepper and the Sea buckthorn au surprise (signature dessert that looks like a hedgehog in meringue). I highly recommend both desserts. My husband got the cheese and rye bread dessert, so we got to try all the desserts. We thoroughly enjoyed all our dishes and the service from Frida and Mikkel which was perfectly timed, never rushed or waiting too long between courses and explanations were clear and at a good volume. We had one of the first tables under the window that was slightly below street level and fortunately it was not crowded or noisy. We had a wonderful, relaxing evening. After Mikkel refilled our second bottle of water after dessert, Frida let us know we had to ask for the check when we wanted it and we were welcome to stay as long as we wanted since we had the table for the night. We then had a nice discussion on Danish vs American health care, education, and safety at night. We had an incredible culinary journey with excellent service from Frida and Mikkel and would definitely return when we are in Copenhagen.

The concept is simple enough but very effective. They have 12 dishes and the menu is 5 dishes to chose from those 12. Since we were 2, they suggested to order 10 different ones (or the 12 and pay 2 as extra) . We ordered 10 different ones and shared. Since they do that often, they pair them so both clients have always a dish. I would recommend in that case they say which one to eat first if the clients are sharing. We found out some combinations of starting with one vs the other were much better. Otherwise, everything was super tasteful, well prepared and very different. At the end we were very satisfied which is also an important aspect. The place is cosy and the employees were very friendly and attentive.

A thoroughly good restaurant experience.

Wonderful all around. The space is as beautiful as the courses they serve. Every detail is thought of — brought to life by an attentive, welcoming and knowledgable team. Just an example of their top-tier service: they freshly baked gluten-free bread for me so that I had the same experience as other patrons (and it was probably the best bread I’ve had). Can’t wait to go back!

Interesting experience with fine dining local products. For the menu you choose 5 dishes from 12 suggestions. Everything tastes rather sour and spicy. Wines rarely cost less than €100/bottle. Service warm and friendly, atmosphere very pleasant.

A high-level dining experience with excellent, young, and attentive service. The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined, and the kitchen plays with balanced flavors and premium ingredients. I selected six dishes from the menu, each with a distinct character. Oyster with Tabasco – Exceptional, one of the best I’ve had. Fried cod tongue with a spicy touch – Crispy and flavorful. Salted hiramasa with citrus, kohlrabi, and wasabi – Fresh and perfectly balanced between acidity, sweetness, saltiness, and spice. Squid with fermented pumpkin, green chili, and sorrel – Beautiful presentation, but the smoky sauce overpowers the squid. Fried monkfish with potato foam, spinach, and lobster sauce – Perfectly cooked fish, rich and well-balanced dish. Roasted potato with grilled onion, ramson, and hollandaise sauce – Earthy and sweet flavors, though it falls apart slightly when eaten. Danish lamb back with Jerusalem artichoke, dukkah, and ginger sauce – Tasty but a small portion; the black garlic intensifies the overall flavor, biggest delusion of all the dishes. Sea Buckthorn en Surprise – A fantastic ending, with crispy meringue, divine vanilla ice cream, and the tartness of the sea buckthorn. A highly enjoyable experience with well-executed dishes and moments of true excellence.

Skøn aften med utrolig god service og fin mad. Positivt at fremhæve: Vi var tre gutter hvor 2 af os ikke er så meget til rødvin og den sidste ikke så meget til hvidvin. Vores tjener Mikkel lavede en yderst komponent sammensat menu bestående udelukkende af rød/ hvid vin. Pighvar retten og norsk konge krabbe retten var perfekt! Dog vil jeg fremhæve et par ting der ikke var til 5/5. For det første er det for vildt at betale 50kr. for vand. Jeg forstår godt man vil have betalt sit anlæg med brus og kulrenset vand hjem, men så tag 30/35kr for det som alle andre finere restauranter. Et shot chartreuse til 175kr. er også frækt… Der var en enkelt ret der efter min smag overhoved ikke fungerede. Kaviar (middelmådig kvalitet) med selleri. Retten druknede lidt i selleri og så snart man tog en bid, flød der æg rundt i den vedlagte sauce. Ikke en hverken smagsfuld eller estetisk god sammensætning. Service var i top og vores tjener Mikkel var både sød og kompetent. Desværre ikke value for money alt i alt i følge os:(

Mine hjernehalvdele begynder at knitre af glæde, når jeg ved at turen går til Formel B. Atmosfæren de har er helt vild og betjeningen er byens bedste. Det var i November min 3. gang på Formel B og det er helt sikkert ikke min sidste. Verdensklasse måltid og service for småpenge når man ser på andre michelin restauranters priser. One Love.
