Really good food. There's not much to say about it. There's no service. Not that it's bad, but it's not part of the concept.

Yes, highly recommended! But the self-service takes some getting used to 🤭 The fish buffet is an expensive thing, you can't eat more than that. However, very tasty to look at. I ultimately decided on the smoked fish cake with brown bread. Result: very tasty.

Delicious herring. We ate the best version of "Sun over Gudjem" here. The only thing I don't recommend is fried fish and chips, because the breading in the fish and the fries were too hard.

Mixed variety of fish and accessories. Salmon, herring, shrimp, breaded, fried, smoked. Everything tasted good!

We chose the fish buffet, which turned out to be great value for money. The selection of smoked and pickled fish was excellent. Only the salmon and shrimp were mediocre, but that’s not what we came for. It would’ve been nice to have more sides (e.g., roasted potatoes) instead of just fish, fish, and more fish, plus a mayo-heavy potato salad. Don’t expect much in terms of service—they had no recommendations and answered all my questions with “what you want.” Definitely a casual buffet spot, so don’t expect a restaurant setup. They do have a solid selection of beers.

Good food at good prices, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, we were allowed to charge our electric bikes so we could drive back to Rønne!

We visited Gudhjem Røgeri as a group of 11 people, and it was surprisingly easy to get a table - we arrived just around opening time, and soon after it filled up quickly, so it was good timing. We all chose their buffet which was really good. It is a bit uniform with a focus on different varieties of herring, but it works really well and should certainly not be seen as something negative - on the contrary. We were lucky to get the seats right by the window into the smokehouse itself and could follow the whole process, which was an exciting and different experience. All in all a very good visit!
