Jettes Diner Svendborg

Best burgers we’ve ever had. Everything fresh.

I have usually been happy with Jettes Diner. On my last visit the service from the young people was good and polite, but the quality of the food has unfortunately declined. I ordered a burger and fried potatoes. Many of the potatoes were completely burnt and black. The ones that weren't burnt tasted good, but it's bad to lose 10-15% of your potatoes. It looked like someone had taken a bite out of my burger bun! The picture shows what the burger looked like when I took it out of the packaging.

Way too much bread for the steak in the burger, a big thick slice of tomato and a little pickled cucumber. Lots of salad that would have made the rabbit happy. Bacon was super salty and dripping with fat. Fried potatoes were diced, and completely floury inside, almost gritty like they had been from freezing. Total disappointment after not having been to Jettes Diner for a very long time.

Nice burger! … and now a year later I ate here again, and it was again an excellent burger!

Very nice, cozy and absolutely delicious!

A cozy diner with really delicious food. Everything is homemade, from the burger buns to the mayonnaise. Big-city flair in a medieval "hygge town". Like eating with friends.

Service was good, they spoke English and had English menu too. The place looks a bit outdated. The food on the other hand was terrible. I got nachos and they were BAD. Cheese was only on the top, so if you eat top layer then you just get dry nacho chips. Salsa and peppers were just on the side and not mixed in. At least it was hot but also it took them about 20 minutes to get food done even though diner was empty.

Jette's dinner. Got its claim to fame in lonely planet in the late nineties, where Svendborg was mentioned with how to get there and then Jette's dinner. My brother and I were back in our childhood town and visited the place for nostalgia's sake. The burger was as I remembered them, with a large rustic bun. The salad and other greens were fresh and good quality. The steaks were unfortunately so overcooked that they were completely dry. It's just not good enough for a burger at that price.

It's a bit cramped inside and it can be difficult to pull out your chair if someone is sitting behind you. The food is delicious and freshly prepared, the service is okay (a bit young staff) and the price is reasonable.

Authentic local watering hole that's also a hit with travelers. Lively atmosphere, great grub at a reasonable price.
