Restaurant Maagen 2023 Assens

We chose Restaurant Mågen when we had to find a place to have lunch during our holiday in Assens. It is located down by the water, southern Little Belt. It is a restaurant that can accommodate a lot of guests and has many different places to sit and enjoy the food. You can sit outside at the entrance, inside in a large room with large windows facing the water and in a slightly larger room that is a little more secluded. But here too you can enjoy the view. Then there is a larger courtyard with a number of tables also facing the water and a whole section with delicious lounge furniture. I think it is used a lot in the evening when the big grills are fired up. It is bright and airy inside. It was well attended. There is a large Marina and mobile home department in the area so I think that does something to the visits. We chose a table out in the courtyard and could see the water as part of the pleasure. The waitress was friendly, smiling and present even though you could see that she was busy. We chose the always good Søbogård Hyldeblomst om Kromandends burger which was part of a smaller lunch selection. Including open sandwiches, starbursts and Paris steak. It was a deliciously tasty burger with crispy fries and chili mayo. Not exactly gourmet but very suitable for a lunch dish. The portion was so generous that we had to leave a little. All in all a good experience. Can definitely be recommended. Take a walk afterwards down to the pier with the little lighthouse and smell the sea. It's balm for the soul.

There was only roast pork and parsley sauce! But there was also enough of that! Breaded and unbreaded tasted fantastic

Delicious food - veal roast like game with side dishes. Lovely staff. Can only be recommended from here.

The food was super good, and we sat on the terrace overlooking the water. Very poor service - they seemed very unengaged and a bit indifferent.

We have eaten here several times, incredibly delicious food, fantastic service, the waiter always meets us with a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his lips. We held our love party/wedding at Restaurant Mågen. UG, kriss and buns to you. Our wishes were fulfilled. The best party of the year and THANK YOU for it and you. We had a really good experience at their grill buffet. Extremely delicious food at a fair price.

We had fried eels and they were very delicious, as was the warm potato salad and home-grown beets.

The only thing missing is a disabled toilet. However, there is one at the sailing club very close to the restaurant It was a party event.

Good food and good service. The place seems to lack some atmosphere
