Retour Steak København

This review is for Return downstairs. We had read about a "cozy atmosphere" downstairs, but the reality was a bit jarring—it felt more like a bunker. Compounding this, the room was very loud, primarily from groups having their meals before a night of partying. The advertised fine dining experience also fell short. The promised carefully chosen wine pairing for the three-course menu was simplified to a suggestion to just stick with one red wine, with the candid reason that the others were "boring." The initial experience definitely missed the mark on the high-quality, quiet night we had hoped for.

We were 6 people, all our adult children and us - phenomenal, nothing less! We will come again!

The service was good - friendly people who actually make sure you have what you need. The steaks were top notch. Perfectly cooked, lots of flavor and exactly the quality you hope for when ordering a proper steak. All in all a really good experience.

3rd time at Retour. As always a pleasure! Great service, very attentive waiters. Absolutely fantastic food, served quickly and hot! We had the best drinks at the bar, the staff had a lot of energy and got us well on our way to the best espresso martinis we have ever tasted! Highly recommended for Date Night and overall just a perfect experience!!!

The best restaurant in the world!! The food is absolutely top notch, the best in Copenhagen. The service is fantastic, and all the waiters are incredibly attentive, loving, listening and accommodating to all guests. Absolutely fantastic place!! 😍

We had an early table, at 6pm, and it was a good choice, quiet and good time, the food was really delicious! The waiters were extremely attentive and friendly, creating a lovely atmosphere. Great experience.

Perfectly cooked rib-eye. A beer I wasn't particularly fond of was taken off the bill. Very polite. Service was friendly and fast. The only downside is that even after declining the tip, you're still charged a 3% surcharge. It's already quite expensive, so this is definitely something to keep in mind.

Review: Excellent Food and Fast Service at Retour My girlfriend and I recently had dinner at Retour, where we enjoyed a three-course meal that delivered some truly memorable flavors — especially when it came to the main course. For the starter, we had salmon tataki with ponzu, harissa, spring onions, trout roe, and pine nuts. It was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. The portion was small but just right to start the meal. The only downside was the timing: it arrived almost immediately after we sat down, at the same time as the bread, which made the start of the meal feel a bit rushed. Still, the dish itself was excellent. The main course was where Retour truly impressed. We both had the 250g striploin with hand-cut fries and sauce Béarnaise, and it was fantastic — one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The fries were among the best I’ve ever tasted, crisp and golden, and the Béarnaise sauce was rich and well-balanced enough to stand on its own. Everything about this course felt perfectly executed. For dessert, we finished with a mazarin cake with yogurt mousse, dark chocolate, blackberry ice cream, and bee pollen. It was pleasant, though not quite on the same level as the first two dishes. Still, it made for a nice and light ending to the meal. The service was polite but felt a bit rushed, and the restaurant itself isn’t particularly cozy or atmospheric. However, the quality of the food more than made up for that — it’s the kind of meal you remember for its flavors rather than its setting. Overall, Retour delivered a truly delicious dinner, highlighted by an unforgettable steak and some of the best fries in Copenhagen. I’d happily return for the food alone.
