14/10/2024: We had our dinner here. A Monday evening, but it was still evident that we needed to book a table.
Classical sandwich food, but not quite - the vegetables were still crunchy, nothing had been boiled to death. I ordered my beef red, and that was exactly how I received it.
The stereotypical idea of the positives about food in Jutland were reinforced - plentiful portions, gravy that you can cut in slices - but the negative stereotypes were dispelled. Their red wines were delicious, the vegetables were fresh, hardly anything had been deep-fried.
The prices were more than reasonable, if you're used to Copenhagen, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Even if you're not going to have your dinner here, stop by for a cup of coffee inside. The place is amazing.
08/10/2024: In the charming town of Ribe, the Weis Stue restaurant is an excellent place to discover local and gourmet cuisine. Restaurant prices in Denmark are in fact higher compared to those generally charged in France, but here, the quality-price ratio is very good. You are guaranteed to have a pleasant time.
The menu largely highlights local products, with an invitation to discover the country's specialties (and no, in Denmark, we don't only eat salmon and black bread!). Weis Stue stands out among the many addresses in Ribe (not all are equal) with its old-fashioned inn atmosphere, nestled in a superb building with authentic decoration.
A real journey back in time, not to be missed if you visit Ribe.
