27/08/2025: I ate at MEAT in Aalborg yesterday, and the experience was unfortunately mixed.
Food:
The starter was truly fantastic – tasty and well-prepared. On the other hand, my main course, a bone-in ribeye, was a disappointment. The meat was tough and had an overly dominant fatty edge, which brought down the overall impression a lot. The accompanying sides were lovely, however.
Service:
The service did not live up to the price. I had to pour both wine and water myself, and the staff seemed largely absent throughout the dinner. When you pay around 2,000 DKK for a dinner, you expect a much higher level of service.
Overall assessment:
MEAT delivered a good start with a lovely starter and side dish, but completely failed in both the main course and the service. For the price, the experience was not worth the money at all.
16/08/2025: Everything was great! The welcome was warm, the waiters were great, the cooking was respected, the sauces were excellent and the sides too!!! The service was great. As French people who love good food, we can only recommend the restaurant!!!

12/09/2025: Really nice restaurant with buffet and a la carte depending on your desire. Helpfully staff and Really friendly. Clean toilets, and the mood and decor are really good...

18/09/2025: I asked for medium rare but i got an uneven cooked steak. It was ranging all the way from blue to medium, bad sear and also I believe I got the wrong sauce twice - unless their whiskey sauce is the same as their ”favorite sauce”.
The overall conclusion, I’m not satisfied, would not recommend but it sure could have been a bad day for the chef. - see for yourselves :)
15/09/2025: How can you manage to cook all the steaks wrong? Four pieces, the medium was a little more cooked than medium and the medium completely cooked through, so much so that they were not only dry, but completely dead.
A 230g lunch steak is about 10cm in diameter and max 10mm thick. A bit reminiscent of a cheap thin-cut steak from Rema.
Staff not terribly service-minded, fortunately the steaks were replaced with new ones, but when asked about size, you get the answer. That's just how they are!
It's probably fifteen years since I last had a good experience at Jensens Bøfhus, and I've walked around it many times over the years. I'll just keep doing that.
My advice is to visit Bones instead. It works every time.
