19/08/2025: We stumbled upon “Café Apropos” on the evening of the 18th — the grand finale of our 8-day Danish road trip. And I do mean stumbled: it was 9:30 PM, we were running late, and desperately hunting for something to feed the kid. The place looked stylish and vaguely Parisian, so we thought, “Why not?” Well… the confusion began with the menu and only got worse from there. If this was meant to be a Parisian bistro, someone forgot to tell the kitchen. The kids’ chicken? Marinated in a spicy sauce — because nothing says “child-friendly” like a surprise kick of heat. Once we realized that, we swapped it for a delightfully thin hamburger tucked inside a hollow bun. Gourmet minimalism, perhaps? Meanwhile, the “tapas plate” featured jalapeños, tortilla sauce, and a few mystery items that defied identification. And the “Parisian steak”? Oh dear. It was a dry hamburger (dear “chef,” ever heard of beef fillet?) perched on a slice of yesterday’s bread, surrounded by random vegetables that added nothing but confusion — and later, stomach drama I won’t detail here out of mercy. The one bright spot? Our waitress. Cheerful, friendly, and just as baffled as we were when the kitchen insisted, “Yes, the baby chicken is marinated in spicy sauce — but just a little spicy!” Final verdict: charming decor, baffling food, and a culinary identity crisis (yes, including pasta with chicken). Proceed with caution — or better yet, don’t.

20/08/2026: One of the best pub that I visited in my inter life, the ambience was magic the music was perfect. And they even have some nice beers, and it is in the center, it looked a little empty I don't know why this place is a hidden pearl maybe

11/05/2026: Can’t believe I’ve never visited in the past 28 years! Lovely cozy little bar serving a well curated selection of Danish, German, and other beers. Friendly and knowledgeable staff with a clear passion for great beer. Excellent.

08/09/2026: Due to miscommunication with the staff, my boyfriend ended up having an allergic reaction. What was even worse was how indifferent the staff were to the situation. We were left completely on our own in an uncomfortable situation and tried to get back on our feet, while the staff just packed up in silence next to us. Mistakes and miscommunication are what happens in life and can be forgiven, but when you disregard humanity to such an extent, it really becomes an unpleasant experience to come to Bryggens Spisehus.

06/09/2026: Ordered an item based off the description on the card (salted caramel cheesecake brownie). Upon taking a bite I found a nut (which i am allergic to). Originally my partner talked to the cashier and they said it “may contain traces of nuts”. I left the clear slice of walnut on the table while I ran to get my medicine. When I asked for a refund or to switch to something else, the workers were extremely rude. They blamed me for not disclosing my allergy (once again, I didn’t think to because I went off the description of the product in the case) and said I had no options. While I think it is a messed up policy to not allow a change or the item or refund, when frustrated me the most was how cold the workers were. There was not an ounce of empathy as I started to combat my allergic reaction and ask for an alternate solution. No apology, no recommending other options. Just saying “well you should have told us” (though even if I had I would have been told the wrong information). I really hope this space learns to teach their employees some more kindness in future training and to establish better allergy trainings. Until then I recommend avoiding this place

07/09/2026: Terrible cafeteria food. The onion soup was tomato-based and had some kind of awful dressing, and the wok-style noodles were topped with fried chicken pieces.

26/08/2026: We originally stopped for a beer and coffee, but ended up having food. The portions were large and the food was delicious. The service was helpful and friendly.

09/09/2026: A very pleasant pub with the billard in the basement. The room with the billard is a bit cramped, so it wasn't always possible to play freely.

30/08/2026: A bit small, but i like the bars that have entertainment, like foosball, dart 🎯 , and billiards 🎱

17/08/2026: The decor is really cool and gives the place a unique character, and the atmosphere is lively. However, the air was heavily filled with cigarette smoke, which made the experience less pleasant. We only had one beer, as we found the prices quite expensive compared with other places in Copenhagen. Nice place for the atmosphere, but probably not somewhere we would return to.

28/07/2026: Excellent food. Well cooked and seasoned in a way that most people will love it but no one will hate it. The waiter was brilliant but they were a bit too busy for the price tag. Memorable restroom!

07/07/2026: Pie, mash gravy and quality beer. Great bar staff, basic pub but definitely a good one

08/04/2026: What happened to this place, used to be a nice place to catch a football game especially when other places nearby were packed. They had 3 screens at some point but for some reason they've all been removed.

15/08/2026: Good small dishes. The price is on the high side.

11/08/2026: Beef tartare, chocolate mousse, and the wine—everything here is delicious. The servers are incredibly attentive, especially Lena, who served us. She's very professional and was fantastic all evening. When I open my own wine bar, I'll definitely try to recruit her. Go without hesitation if you appreciate good food, fine wine, and kind souls.

09/06/2026: Nice place, good food and atmosphere

09/06/2026: The brunch buffet is ok but it doesn’t have much. Often the food was a bit cold or dry. Price is quite ok though and the plates seemed to have rather big portions when not from the buffet. You get the plate when you order and it is a bit annoying to to be able to get a new one if everything is dirty. Filtered coffee and tea are included in the price and there isn’t a limit time which is very good. The place is very spacious which makes it good to go with friends or a big group.

27/06/2025: Cet établissement se situe sur un quai parmi beaucoup d'autres Si l'accueil est de qualité, si l'entrée était très convenable, le poisson ( carrelet?) était bien trop cuit

27/08/2026: Like any tourist center in the cities, the prices are above average. A draft beer cost 85 DKK in this place. In other pubs a little further away from this location, I found prices starting at 65 DKK. But it's worth it because you can enjoy the boat trips that arrive and depart from the canal.
