02/04/2024: I have previously visited Hotel Amerika several times and had a very good experience. Both the rooms, the surroundings and the food are usually in a class where you get a lot for the money, and I have also previously given it five stars. However, my last visit was somewhat less impressive. I don't know if I was particularly unlucky or if the hotel has gotten significantly worse during the last two years that I haven't visited it. The otherwise sublime breakfast had been replaced with an outstanding but not flashy breakfast buffet. It was certainly not bad, but also not the kind where you sit and think "Wow, I'm getting a lot for my money". Unfortunately, the bathroom was also pretty run down, the toilet wouldn't really flush and the drain smelled bad when you took a shower. I would still recommend going to Hotel Amerika, but it is not as good as it has been - and you can obviously be unlucky with the rooms.

10/03/2024: An excellent recovery of a healthcare facility transformed into a hotel with all comforts, large rooms, common rooms, possibility of restaurant and excellent breakfast...for a fee...excellent for walking along the long fjord, or cycling, perfect for the weekend, free parking.

30/03/2024: We were warmly welcomed and offered a table. Both the order and inquiries were easily possible in English. A quaint, old-fashioned, beautiful café. The cake was really tasty and the French Press coffee rounded off the taste.

09/03/2024: Fik smørrebrød og stjerneskud ved et vinduesbord i den lækkert renoverede restaurant. Overdådigt og kreativt smørrebrød hvor to stykker fint stillede sulten. Stjerneskud på superlækkert rugbrød var også godt. Ikke helt som beskrevet på menukortet - ingen dampet fisk (og så er det jo ikke et stjerneskud, men det nogle spisesteder kalder en stjernekaster) i stedet et stykke makrel, men alt i alt velsmagende. Ualmindelig veloplagt betjening. Vi kommer igen 100 % sikkert.

18/02/2024: Nice reunion with the view's restaurant. And the food had only gotten better since the last time, but it has been many years since the last time. Can recommend this place for the deliciously hungry who want to have a really good dinner and enjoy an absolutely fantastic view of the fjord...

15/02/2024: Pretty decent lunch burger, some more fries could be needed. Good steak with a nice grill taste. the raw carrot in the burger is weird, pickle it or something so it actually adds flavor.
