22/04/2025: I had ordered Easter lunch for pick-up at the Cafe. We were very disappointed. There wasn't enough food on the plate for a normal person to be even moderately full. We weren't impressed with the quality of the very, very small portions on the plate. The only thing that was enough was the dessert. But no one wanted to eat that.
If they call it an Easter lunch on the menu, I expect it to be lunch. My guests thought it was a starter!
We will NOT do that again. There are other restaurants in Præstø that deliver food to the house. We have always been satisfied with them. So we are going back to what we usually do. We paid 169 kr per plate.
18/03/2025: A very nice and cozy cafe. Was served cappuccino and cheesecake - especially the cake was delicious! Friendly and welcoming service and cozy interior. Price for coffee DKK 45 and DKK 59 for the cake

17/08/2025: The fish and chips is actually cheap store-bought fried filets and clearly not home-made. It shouldn't even be called "fish and chips". They seem to bake them for half an hour in the oven because it took quite a while to get them. The fries were lukewarm. At least the draft beer was good and fairly priced.
We were visiting Denmark only for a week and were disappointed that this was one of our meals.

Arrived around 21–22 o’clock
The place was very full and crowded
Felt uncomfortable there (personal opinion – probably because it was overfilled)
More of a village pub
Not a special or unique ambience
For people who just want to have a few beers in the evening, it’s perfectly fine
In summer there is probably the option to sit outside, which might make it less crowded

01/01/2026: Bad experience with a salad that was supposed to have marinated beef. It was completely dry-fried minced beef. Truly one of the worst things I have ever experienced. I returned it and didn't get to pay for it either.
21/12/2025: Even though we were the only ones in the whole restaurant, there was no service. Asked for a medium-rare steak. But it was red inside and the meat smelled strange, the bacon was not crispy.
There were small flies flying around.
We have been there before where we were not satisfied, and now it was the last time.

29/12/2025: Service was excellent. Pizza was ok, the restaurant looked a little messy.
26/12/2025: I ordered a pita bread without tomatoes and most importantly WITHOUT chili because I get bad pains when I eat chili. Then I get one with chili and when I try and complain I just get yelled at in Muslim or Arabic and then I take my things and leave. Only bad experiences from here!

Everything is a little worn, but that was expected. 😉

28/08/2023: En fantastisk oplevelse for alle sanser. Menu og vine var delikat udvalgt og parret til perfektion. Servering
og sommelier var hyggelige og havde en fin og humoristisk tone. Lokalet er uendelig smukt.

14/09/2023: Stalden Café has certainly seen better days. There is a lot of disorder in and around the house, and the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired everywhere. This is one of the reasons why we skipped food/breakfast and were happy to continue traveling after one night there. Therefore: Not recommended!
27/08/2023: We haven't been particularly impressed. The place is very messy and dirty. Especially what they call the restaurant. Dead flies on the windowsill and lots of cobwebs in the windows. Dirt in the sugar, salt and pepper jars filthy with dung.
The waiter had many open wounds on his arms with fresh blood, it wasn't very nice to look at when he came in with the food without a bandage.
The floor was filthy with dung. The one tourist magazine that was on the table for us was completely stuck together.
The mugs had big chips in them.
We were told that they had just cleaned before we came. The mixer tap had not been cleaned in any case, nor had the mirror.

The Old Irish Pub

10/12/2023: Hostile atmosfer created by a racist door bouncer who isn't even Danish himself.
Paying customers are randomly kicked out by this 1 door bouncer, just for being not Danish.
(Italien, Dutch, Greek, Latvian, Estonian, Irish and English customers are kicked out for no reason. These are all adults 30>62 years old)
Drinks are ridiculous expensive.
Music is to way to loud.
There is nothing "Irish" to this old Irish pub.

14/07/2024: Very nice place, clean, we had our own kitchen and a gorgeous patio overlooking the ocean! Highly recommend!
01/07/2024: The room smelled stuffy when we arrived. And there were cobwebs in by the floor panels.
There is no staff and you get the key in a box.
The hotel cafe is closed - has been for a long time (over a year) but was only informed about this on arrival. Signs to the hotel show that you can eat here.
The hotel refers via text message to breakfast at the city's cafes - which are also closed except for one.
Truly a disappointing experience. Didn't come again and can't recommend it.
