22/04/2025: I had ordered Easter lunch for pick-up at the Cafe. We were very disappointed. There wasn't enough food on the plate for a normal person to be even moderately full. We weren't impressed with the quality of the very, very small portions on the plate. The only thing that was enough was the dessert. But no one wanted to eat that.
If they call it an Easter lunch on the menu, I expect it to be lunch. My guests thought it was a starter!
We will NOT do that again. There are other restaurants in Præstø that deliver food to the house. We have always been satisfied with them. So we are going back to what we usually do. We paid 169 kr per plate.
18/03/2025: A very nice and cozy cafe. Was served cappuccino and cheesecake - especially the cake was delicious! Friendly and welcoming service and cozy interior. Price for coffee DKK 45 and DKK 59 for the cake

02/10/2025: I was at an event with food. Since I don't eat meat, I contacted the restaurant beforehand and was told by a friendly employee that they would make me a dish. In the evening there was no food for me, I asked about it and was told it was on its way. When the others in the party were finishing their food, my food arrived. It consisted of a 1/2 baked squash, 5 small, almost cold cauliflower florets and a teaspoon of "sauce". Yep, that was it.!!!
That's just not right.
24/09/2025: My wife and I were given an overnight stay with meals as a gift. But alas, it did not live up to our expectations in any way. The standard room was large, but worn out and the toilet/bathroom was very small. In the restaurant we were met by one waiter who informed us that due to illness, we had to expect a bit of a wait. When the food finally arrived, the meat was almost inedible. Sinuous and tough. After 2 hours we left the restaurant, still missing dessert. Breakfast started at 7 and when we arrived at 7.30 there was no yogurt or milk (no refills). When we left half an hour later we still had not seen any staff. So all in all a very disappointing experience. Try another hotel if you are looking for accommodation around Stege.

28/09/2025: Medium price range but that's ok, as both quality and quantity are in order. Well prepared and correctly seasoned for food.
The service was fast and friendly.
MC Suså can highly recommend the place for a good lunch.

17/08/2025: The fish and chips is actually cheap store-bought fried filets and clearly not home-made. It shouldn't even be called "fish and chips". They seem to bake them for half an hour in the oven because it took quite a while to get them. The fries were lukewarm. At least the draft beer was good and fairly priced.
We were visiting Denmark only for a week and were disappointed that this was one of our meals.

25/03/2025: It is a fantastic place where the whole broad spectrum of society can come and be themselves with a hugely cozy atmosphere, and a feeling of being welcome from the moment you step through the door, the staff/bartenders are super sweet and really nice to be served by and space to talk and an unparalleled feeling of a time that is almost only a memory today is maintained in the superb way that the atmosphere from a vibrant Nyhavn atmosphere has been maintained, yet modern, a piece of history like "cheers" or better known in Danish as "sams bar" with live music on many of the weekends so people have a place to go and have a super fun and cozy time with a feeling of strong local unity with room for everyone and with room in their hearts to be different.
My biggest recommendations can, with a joy from the soul, give 10 stars to this fantastic establishment 🥳
27/10/2024: Its bad place with violence, and drug.
My advice is to stay away, so your holiday wont end with a trip to the hospital.

og sommelier var hyggelige og havde en fin og humoristisk tone. Lokalet er uendelig smukt.

14/09/2023: Stalden Café has certainly seen better days. There is a lot of disorder in and around the house, and the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired everywhere. This is one of the reasons why we skipped food/breakfast and were happy to continue traveling after one night there. Therefore: Not recommended!
27/08/2023: We have not been very excited. The place is very messy and dirty. Especially what they call the restaurant. Dead flies on the windowsill and lots of cobwebs in the windows. Dirty in the sugar, salt and pepper buckets dirty.
The man who served had many open wounds on his arms with fresh blood, it was not very nice to look at when he came in with the food without a plaster.
The floor was filthy. The one tourist magazine that was on the table for us was completely stuck together.
There were large chips in the mugs.
We were told that they had just cleaned before we arrived. In any case, the mixer tap was not cleaned, nor was the mirror.

The Old Irish Pub

10/12/2023: Hostile atmosfer created by a racist door bouncer who isn't even Danish himself.
Paying customers are randomly kicked out by this 1 door bouncer, just for being not Danish.
(Italien, Dutch, Greek, Latvian, Estonian, Irish and English customers are kicked out for no reason. These are all adults 30>62 years old)
Drinks are ridiculous expensive.
Music is to way to loud.
There is nothing "Irish" to this old Irish pub.

14/07/2024: Very nice place, clean, we had our own kitchen and a gorgeous patio overlooking the ocean! Highly recommend!
01/07/2024: The room smelled stuffy when we arrived. And there were cobwebs in by the floor panels.
There is no staff and you get the key in a box.
The hotel cafe is closed - has been for a long time (over a year) but was only informed about this on arrival. Signs to the hotel show that you can eat here.
The hotel refers via text message to breakfast at the city's cafes - which are also closed except for one.
Truly a disappointing experience. Didn't come again and can't recommend it.
