14/04/2026: The food tastes fantastic, especially their meat. However, they are greatly let down by their service. The food is slow to come and they never have enough staff in relation to how many people come. They have their stone grill concept but unfortunately it has to be done inside. When I was there the smoke extraction didn't work, so the smoke was so thick you could cut through it. We opened some windows but there was still a lot of smoke and then it just got cold. The atmosphere is nice enough but is let down by the smoke. There is a lot of loud talking inside the restaurant so something that lowered the sound level would fit in well. And the food can cost anything from under 100 to over 400. They have very expensive things but also very cheap things. All in all I can recommend it but come in the summer when you have the opportunity to sit outside.
09/04/2026: Very cozy place, the lovely hostess made it even cozier ❤️ We ate luxury burgers and definitely got our moneys worth. ☺️ Definitely worth visiting if you are in Assens!

First time at an Italian restaurant – and definitely not the last! 🇮🇹
We had both lamb and wild boar, and wait a minute… it tasted excellent! The lamb was tender and juicy, the wild boar had a nice deep flavor, and the sauces were just right in the cupboard. The garnish wasn’t exactly my taste, but never mind – the meat and sauce more than made up for it.
The dessert, “Tortino di Mele”, came in like a little bird’s nest with ice cream and apples – tasted great and rounded off the evening in just the right way. 🍏🍨
The waiters were smiling, fast and super friendly – you felt really welcome.
The food came quickly, the atmosphere was cozy, and the place was well visited (which says it all).
All in all: a really good experience – we will definitely be back! 🙌

23/04/2026: We enjoyed ourselves, so 5 stars for the atmosphere.
Food, not quite what I had imagined, the potatoes seemed like they were just split and put in the microwave to be warm, the sauce was a very ordinary butter sauce, I have had Wienerschnitzel in many different places, but always with a cloud sauce, peas had been cooked a few minutes too long. The meat itself was reasonable, not dry but not crispy on the outside either. So the food does not live up to the price.
Service, the waiter was not service minded, asked "what can I do for you", it almost seemed like he did not want to be at work, not so much as a smile. But they were also looking for new waiters, maybe that's why😂
Cozy city center.
18/01/2026: Thank you for a really delicious and tasty burger today afternoon, it was our first visit to you and we will definitely be back. You could taste it was good ingredients, including good meat and a delicious homemade (baker's) bun. And cheaper than at cafes in mid-air 😁🍔

16/10/2025: Perfect it's a place you'll want to come back to again the food was delicious
11/09/2025: There were 4 of us on a trip to Helnæs, and the only place where you could get lunch was at Helnæs Kro. We were given the menu as soon as we arrived, and it all looked good, but we were also offered 4 times plaice, just arrived, completely fresh. We accepted that offer and spent the waiting time drinking some absolutely wonderful beers from Midtfyns Bryghus. The plaice arrived and they were absolutely tasty and with good sauce and potatoes. Good service meant that we also ordered desserts and here we were not disappointed either, quite the opposite. We left happy.

22/08/2025: A little gem in Assens for all beer lovers: Skænkestuen offers a pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff and cozy rooms. We were lucky enough to visit them in connection with the city festival.
There is a large selection of beers - from bottles and cans to exciting beers on tap.
From what we could understand, cozy events are held, and there is the opportunity to get small snacks or main meals with the beers. The prices are of course a little above the usual prices in the city, but they also sell some more specialized and exciting beers by the glass and bottle.
A digital card for the tables could be recommended, this would be a good option.
All in all, a delicious place that definitely deserves a visit or more - we didn't taste the food, however, so this is not rated.

There were other guests in the group who had Wiener schnitzels, omelettes and biscuits, nice large portions, highly recommended 🌞 👍 👏 😊

29/09/2025: We had been recommended the place by a local, and happily went out to the marina, hungry and excited about what lunch had to offer. According to the information on the place, it was open. When we arrive, we immediately sense that the place is closed due to private events. Which is completely fair! 🤗 We enter and are confirmed that the place is closed for the season a week before, which was not apparent either on Google or here in maps. What a shame! One wish from here is that Mågen will adjust its opening hours after the high season in the future, so that no more people go in vain. Two ⭐️⭐️ for the sweet waiters who greeted us with a smile. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the atmosphere in the place, where it seemed like people were really enjoying themselves. The building itself is nothing to shout hooray for. I hope to come back to Mågen one day in the future, when it is open 😉

25/04/2026: Super beautiful place close to the water. Fantastic meeting room and super delicious food. I will definitely come again.
06/04/2026: A nice place to go and just relax for a few days.
Good service, nice evening menus....If I could have one wish, it would have been nice to have a slightly more varied breakfast.
A little more cold cuts than 1 type of slice of cheese and ham.
Maybe some sausage rolls, bacon, or brie.
But that may be it, next time.
Thanks for an otherwise good stay.
