De bedste restauranter i Tønder

17/10/2025: 08.10.2025 My girlfriend and me who come from England were stopping overnight in Tønder at the nearby Motel near the main train station for 1 night having travelled from Hamburg, and we were heading to Copenhagen the next day. So I had already reserved a table for dinner at this wonderful little boutique hotel. When we arrived the 3 young ladies working kindly welcomed us and all spoke very good English as we cannot speak Danish. We were early for the booking and they did offer for us to be seated immediately which was nice of them, but we insisted on having a pre-drink in their nice bar. I had a Steak Tartare while my girlfriend ate a Pork Cheek dish. Then for dessert I chose the Lemon Mousse while the Cheese & Biscuit platter was also chosen. All dishes were beautifully presented on their plates and were very flavoursome. Yes this may cost a little more than most average priced restaurants, but we got good quality for our money at least. Which is why I highly recommend this place for all kinds of guests, even travelling tourists like we were on the above date when we actually visited. And if I had more money on me I probably could've chosen to stay here, but the Motel suited me on this occasion because of our needs to use the local trains for our travels.

29/09/2025: We are so happy to visit Hostrups Hotel that we have been here in all seasons and enjoyed it every time. A very welcoming welcome means a lot to us - we get it. We have stayed in rooms in the main building and side wing and have been extremely satisfied: quiet and comfortable decor and really good beds. The food is always innovative, looks inviting and is tasty. A walk around the streets of Tønder and a visit to a nearby small German town are part of our stay, after which it is nice to come 'home' to Hostrups Hotel and rest our legs before dinner and a drink.

06/10/2025: A really charming border inn, located quite close to the border between Germany and Denmark in the small town of Rudbøl. There is a restaurant, swimming pool and beautiful nature. The rooms are older, but nice and clean. Right next to the inn is a campsite.

12/09/2025: Place with good and delicious food. Nice that the food is served and comes around to those who are hungrier. Also good entertainment on site. The rooms need maintenance and especially the bathroom facilities could use better cleaning.

19/08/2025: Dejlig let frokost. Vi fik h.h.v. tudbrøl med kyllingesalat og en bagel med røget laks. Og koldt lokal fadøl til. Vi fik meget og særdeles lækker mad til pengene. Venligt og imødekommende personale. Desværre lidt mangelfuldt uddannet. Men det er nok vilkårene i sommerlandet. Men vi var mætte og tilfreds da vi gik. Et dejligt udendørsområde med mulighed for sol eller skygge efter behov.

11/08/2025: This was our second time there. The food is delicious, but the prices are outrageous. I got two small slices of bread and two very small meatballs and a nasty side dish for €10. My son's build-your-own burger had a kind of meatball that was too small for the bun. Another burger I ordered was okay, but for over €20, the side of fries was a real joke. The "Shooting Star" we ordered for over €20 is a fish sandwich with sauce. The staff, however, are very friendly and speak German and English.

04/10/2025: A cozy party room with good acoustics. Delicious and tasty food.

07/09/2025: Super cozy and beautiful inn with friendly staff and service. Really good food and a nice selection of breakfast with coffee and juice. The rooms are older but kept nice.

26/08/2025: Perfect for an overnight stay. The food and breakfast were decent, but the room wasn't the most modern. The motel isn't part of the hotel, but a building complex next door.

16/03/2026: A lovely spot by the Højer lock, behind the dike. A large parking area with plenty of space and a good starting point for walks along the dike. The area is quiet and offers a beautiful view of the marsh. We had a stormy night, but overall it was very peaceful. Toilets are available, though they are a bit dated and could use some renovation. Nevertheless, it's a nice place to spend some time and enjoy the scenery – especially with a dog.
