Tasty 'Stjerneskud', friendly service.

A small Danish restaurant with rustic decor and a friendly owner. The food was good, traditional Danish fare, and the daily special is highly recommended. Something a bit unusual for Germans: the service charge of about 10% is added directly to the bill. This is my first time in Denmark, and apparently, this is the custom here, as the owner explained when we asked.

I popped in at the last minute, just in time for the daily special. The service was courteous.

So rare these days to find such well-prepared and delicious home cooking in the Danish way!! Atmosphere and staff get just as high marks as the food, definitely worth a detour 🙏🏽

You immediately feel welcome and comfortable here. The owner (who also serves) is incredibly friendly and has a great sense of humor, as does his server. The food was OUTSTANDING. The fries and vegetables were perfect. I was a little surprised that I wasn't asked how I wanted my meat cooked, but it was cooked to perfection, and the Béarnaise sauce was simply superb! (I had a whole gravy boat of Béarnaise sauce, not just the "dab" in the photo). My tip: If you're in Esbjerg, you shouldn't miss visiting this cozy and charming restaurant. I had beef Béarnaise with vegetables and fries. The price/performance ratio was good! My only criticism is the wine list. There was only one red wine available by the glass, and no half-bottles were offered. I would have loved to enjoy a good Ribera del Duero or at least a Rioja with my dinner (or did I miss them?). But of course, that's a matter of taste. Many thanks to the kitchen team for the excellent service! I would definitely eat at this restaurant again.

A really cozy place, with the best atmosphere and perfect Danish dishes, made 100% from scratch... main course, dessert, a beer and a water, 395 kr Absolutely worth a visit....
