My wife and I have dined at various Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, but this one stood out in a remarkable way. Perhaps it is time for the Michelin organization to consider creating a fourth star— Jordnaer certainly deserves it.

19/04/2025: This time The Mad Madsen was passing by Hellerup and needed to pick up some takeaway on the way home. Expected standard pizza, got really good pizza. Clean and tidy in the shop, a smiling owner behind the counter and good music. We got to buy a few bottles of wine to take home. It turned out to be a really good day. We like! We'll be back 😁

02/04/2025: 😏I come to this café almost every week after exercising or walking. What stands out the most for me is the owner—she always greets customers with a beautiful energy and the warmest smile🌞. The coffee and food are delicious, but she truly makes the difference because she puts love into her work. And that is priceless. Plus, since she knows I’m Spanish, she speaks to me in Spanish, which I find incredibly sweet. I will definitely keep coming back and recommending this lovely café near the beach!♥️

09/03/2025: Visited in March 2025. I'll start by saying that this may just have been my favourite restaurant visit so far. Not only did the food live up to my expectations, but the service was perfect for me - with just enough attention from the staff, yet without it being overwhelming. We got the tasting menu, which was interesting, and the food was generally very good. Many new Nordic restaurants take "boring" ingredients, such as cod or root vegetables, and make them taste good. The Samuel instead used very strong ingredients and somehow managed to harmonize them into well-balanced dishes, where the tastes complemented each other instead of being overpowering. I found this quite special and very pleasant. Perhaps the most noticeable example was the dish called All good times 3. That was one of my favourite dishes from the menu, together with the scallops and cheese platter. I was the least impressed with the desserts, but that's partly because I'm not a fan of saffron. Another thing I really liked about the food was the manitoba bread served with olive oil picked based on personal taste from a wide available selection. The drinks pairing were great. I'm not a fan of wine myself, so I got a cocktail/mocktail pairing instead, which I was generally very happy with. My favourites were the ginger mojito and the mandarin & bergamot craft soda. I know that The Samuel is known for good wine, but we almost didn't pick it because we were afraid I wouldn't have anything interesting to drink. I would very much recommend to include some more information about the availability of cocktails and especially mocktails on the restaurant's webpage. As I mentioned in the beginning, service was great. All the dishes and drinks were explained nicely and the level of attention from the staff was just perfect for me. The atmosphere was also nice, with cool art and low volume background music. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to The Samuel, and the 3.5 h we spent there just flew by. I can very much recommend the place for a high-end dinner.

02/05/2025: At takeaway, there are simply such small portions at a bargain price. Fried noodles for DKK 165 and what corresponds to a children's portion.

22/10/2024: Really good pizza with a variety of toppings to choose from. It has an authentic Italian taste and the ingredients seems to be of good quality. I love that they use pancetta and not bacon and also Italian sausage. Besides that you have a nice selection of Italian soft drinks and 3 types of San Bendetto Ice tea, which I really like. I would definetely try the desserts next time I am there.

26/03/2025: Esters Spisehus er en lille oase af krostemning og autencitet, dejlig dansk mad og super venlig og professionel betjening. Maden var rigtig dejlig og smagfuld. Vi fik hakkebøf med bløde løg, spejlæg og brasede kartofler, desuden et stjerneskud. Dessert fik vi pandekage med is - den var fantastisk! Hurra at der stadig findes restauranter som Esthers Spisehus med original indretning og krostemning. Vi kommer igen!!!

28/04/2025: We went to a roast pork buffet with everything and a bingo game afterwards and nice prizes. Nice food and nice service, and nice people. A lovely cozy evening.

20/04/2025: Fantastic little oasis with fantastic sea view. The food is wonderful and not least on the cheap end. The service is sweet and friendly. Can only be highly recommended.

20/03/2025: An Italian pearl in Hellerup! We went to this Italian restaurant as a family, a nice culinary experience. Refined and at the same time delicious dishes, from bread to dessert, all excellent. Attentive and friendly service and staff. A special compliment goes to the chef and his cuisine.
