08/12/2025: An old, worn out hotel next door to the Train. Great service, friendly staff. On weekends you have to book a table for breakfast - don't forget! If you forget you get a tray, pick the breakfast you want, and then take it to your room. Quite ok breakfast for a vegan. Fruit, nuts and oat milk.
The room was ok, got a high one next to the elevator, it was noisy all the time - but since I came back late and got up early it didn't really bother me that much. Comfortable bed. Hot shower.
07/12/2025: Paid a relatively low price for the room considering the usual prices. However, it resulted in me getting a room next to the elevator shaft - it was quite terrible. Constant noise and banging from the elevators made it almost impossible to sleep and stay in peace. The advanced age of the hotel calls for a complete renovation.
The receptionist explained that there were no more rooms left that I could be moved to. A quick visit to the website revealed that there were available rooms, but again it's all about the price. It's really bad service when the complaint is made on the spot.
Have stayed here before, but from now on it will only be a last resort.

Incredibly fantastic service and super nice people who work there.
Great that you can get everything lactose-free and gluten-free. Even dessert. There aren't many places where Ladefoged can do that.
Super delicious food full of flavor like you were in Italy.

08/08/2025: Super tasty, high quality and unique beer! Before leaving the city, I wanted to try one of the beers. The girl working in Aben helped me to choose the right one. I’m not sure but I think it was 7? Both sour and sweet with Danish cake flavors. The taste is still in my mind, I think it was the most different and tasteful beer that I’ve ever tried and it didn’t hurt my stomach, as well. Thank you for this experience, thanks to good employee choice of Åben! -Also the interior was amazing, I love the architecture!

22/08/2025: Very unpleasant experience for a foreigner.
Gas pump hose was short. Paid inside the store 300DKK and gas pump nozzle didn't work even if I pressed it multiple times
They said to us after many complaints that we will be refunded until Monday. I will wait and update...
17/08/2025: Prepaid fueling. Vending machines. You first have to use the card from which the 1,000 kroner was debited, and then you can fill up. Apparently, the remaining amount is then refunded to your account. I haven't checked yet. The machine is operated in Danish, English, or German, and the screen changes very quickly; someone who isn't fluent in the language might have trouble keeping up. Generally, filling up is stressful; I wouldn't recommend it to foreigners who don't speak the language fluently.

05/12/2025: I just had a very disappointing experience with the service. I came in and asked for a table for two, and two different waiters insisted that the restaurant was fully booked. The restaurant wasn’t even fully packed and it’s just 16pm. However, when I checked the website immediately after, I was able to book a table for that exact same time. This felt very misleading and unprofessional.
30/11/2025: Visited Rømer in the middle of the hustle and bustle on Saturday after Black Friday. Nice service - both polite and welcoming. But the best thing was the dish "stir-fried tartar", which really touched me - and made my mouth and stomach happy. It's a matter of trust to eat tartar at a restaurant. But I didn't expect a restaurant in Aarhus to be able to make stir-fried tartar in a way that really sent my taste buds into the sky. Thank you for that. The only downside is the slightly loud music that plays non-stop. But with an age approaching old age, I'll probably realize that's how it is today. Still - I'd love to come back.

Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience at Barstart Aarhus. The atmosphere was tense, and the service did not meet my expectations at all. The staff seemed uninterested and had a hard time dealing with guests who came from other bars and were just trying to have fun. It left the impression that you were not welcome as a guest, and it dragged down the whole evening.
All in all, it was one of the most disappointing bar experiences I have had, and I will not be back.
