30/07/2026: Absolutely excellent place with really good food. We ordered a picnic basket to share and there was both plenty and good taste. Shrimp, salmon, mackerel, plaice, shrimp, aioli fish cakes, salad, greens, bread of libitium and much more so that you can put together and taste it yourself. It all tasted heavenly and the atmosphere and the staff are top shelf.
The price is also affordable and our general impression of what we could see is that you get a lot for your money and you don't leave hungry here.
Definitely a place that can be recommended, however it must be said that on busy days you should not come all the way to closing time as they only buy what is available, so it sells out when it is empty.

20/08/2026: Yesterday we went to Dokken in Ballen on Samsø. What can I say, it was amazing! We received a warm welcome, the service was quick and very friendly. The food was fantastic; we had a main course and dessert. It wasn't exactly cheap, but the taste was absolutely top-notch, so it was worth every penny!
We'd go back anytime!

20/08/2026: Hey everyone, we went out for pizza again today. We regularly travel to Italy, but let me tell you, you don't need to go that far for pizza! The pizza at Don Juan in Ballen on Samsø is just as good as any pizza in Italy!! No wonder, since all the pizza chefs are from Italy. Friendly service, cold drinks, and always a spot for dogs – it couldn't be better. We're already looking forward to our next visit in May 2027!!

08/08/2026: Nice little brewery with room for many guests
29/07/2026: A truly wonderful place, we went for a beer tasting where the whole story of the friendly couple who run the brewery was told with plenty of space for questions and stories. The brewery and the land around it are run CO2 neutral and climate conscious in such a simple and environmentally friendly way that the owners take great pride in and which can also be tasted in their many different beers.
There is beer for every taste, whether it is their individual IPA, "because we don't care that much" or their many dark stouts, there is definitely something you like, and as they say themselves, no two beers are the same as all beers are handmade and fermented in the bottle for up to several years before serving to give a characteristic carbonation and full flavor.
Definitely worth a visit on your way through Samsø

24/07/2026: Absolutely fantastic place - the quality is top notch, both for the open sandwiches and the veal culottes, as well as the burger menu. Without a doubt the best dishes we have had on Samsø. Quality at reasonable prices - and free water for the table.

The whole restaurant is talking about it across the tables 😊
A few delicious dishes to choose from. Several tables tonight can recommend the hake, rib eye and octopus.
The service is polite and attentive.
The chef and owner for 9 years is from Bulgaria and the waiter from Greece and lovely to talk to.
Definitely worth a visit.

29/07/2026: A really lovely experience that I can only recommend to others.
The host was attentive to the guests' needs, for example, I got a portion for dinner because he thought I looked hungry😀.
A good host who was definitely not greasy
The 2 dishes we got in the evening x 2 tasted lovely and well prepared.
The breakfast was also good.
The atmosphere at the hotel is cozy and charming
29/07/2026: After a single night at Flinch's hotel on Samsø, I can only say that there is nothing positive to say. So don't be fooled by the beautiful and cozy pictures that give a bit of a beach hotel atmosphere - that atmosphere is completely absent.
We arrived at check-in time, to a hotel without a receptionist, never mind they may be busy with other things. We are shown over to "Stalden" to room 18.
The room smells of a damp basement, so we try to air it out. The only challenge here is that the staff has a "smoking room" 2 meters from our open window. A window that also faces a goods delivery to the hotel, with activity and noise from 0630 am
The room is worn and only clean on the surface. There are mosquitoes spread on the walls, moths that "party" at night, the carpet has suspiciously colored stains, etc.
In general, the whole room needs a proper overhaul. Maybe you should also buy the furniture somewhere other than IKEA, so that it had hotel standards. To top it all off, they have chosen to dilute the hand soap in the bathroom and remove shampoo and body soap.
The beds are of such poor quality that it is almost scary. 2 cheap and rock hard box mattresses, with a sheet laid over them.
All in all, I would rank this as a hybrid between a craftsman hotel and a hostel. There is not a single thing that would make me come back - unfortunately I can't give less than 1 star.

24/07/2026: Terribly poor food, completely tasteless and not cooked/fried to perfection. And it's clearly at the high end of the price range for Samsø. Impressive.
24/07/2026: We stopped here for a traditional Danish lunch before taking the ferry. The food was fresh, delicious, and well prepared. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. The waitress was not very friendly or attentive, which affected the overall experience. Great food, but the customer service could definitely be improved.
