07/07/2026: The food was good. The problem was eating inside the restaurant, surrounded by many small flies that kept getting into the food. When we told the staff, the only response was that it was because of the weather. We suggested closing the door, and they again told us it was because of the weather... It was a shame; it was a very unpleasant meal because the flies landed on the food and got into our mouths, and they weren't able to find a solution.

22/06/2026: The ramen is very good. The fried shrimp with sweet and sour sauce and the Japanese-style fried dumplings are delicious as appetizers. The ramen (noodles in meat broth) with meat or vegetables, each topped with half an egg or coconut, is also tasty. Chopsticks and wooden spoons are provided. A fork is available upon request.

16/05/2026: If you try to serve something that everyone likes, it can quickly turn into liver pâté. That was in no way, if not absolutely no way, the case at @Alimentum. It was 16 exquisite and absolutely fantastic dishes with a wine menu that was right in the cupboard. The atmosphere and the service were world class. The one question the staff couldn't answer was investigated and returned with a top professional answer. I really hope Alimentum gets its 2nd star in June. They deserve it so much⭐️⭐️

30/06/2026: My partner and I are greeted by polite staff and can choose a table outside. I choose a bun with butter and West Sea cheese, and of course expect a large portion of a bun with butter and cheese for 65 kr. (most other cafes charge between 35-40 kr for a BMO). Unfortunately, I am disappointed as one bun is divided into seven pieces, which are only three slices of cheese, and one tiny little packet of butter. Furthermore, it is a rather dry and chewy pleasure to eat the bun. I would probably have just chosen to divide the bun in two, so it required 2 pieces of toppings, rather than 7. My partner gets a slice of bread with tomato, three pieces of salmon and half an avocado on top. It tasted fine, but was incredibly difficult to eat, as it all falls apart, with such a presentation. Furthermore, he orders an espresso macchiato. There is a slight misunderstanding with the order, and he receives a latte macchiatto instead. He goes in and asks if it can be true, and is greeted by a rude waiter who immediately brushes him off. So he doesn't end up getting what he ordered, and we end up with a rather bad overall impression of the place. We did get a carrot cake, which was good, and all the other cakes looked good too. Based on our experience, Penny Lane Café can be recommended for coffee and cake, but nothing more than that.

25/06/2026: Wow! What a beautiful "place" in Aalborg. I don't even want to call it a café, because it's not really one. You can find something wonderful in every corner. The treats on offer look amazing. The prices are all reasonable. If you're ever in Aalborg, come here and take your time. Addendum: I haven't said anything about the fantastic staff. After visiting them twice over three days, a blonde lady really came across: always friendly, always smiling. She's the best service staff; you'd want to go to her restaurant or café. Plus, she's beautiful :-) I hope the Google Translate text is understandable :-)

13/07/2026: On our continued travels north, we made a stopover in Aalborg and discovered this café through Happy Cow. The atmosphere was very friendly, and the hot chocolate with oat milk and the coffee were delicious. They also had tasty vegan pastries at a fair price. We'd gladly come again.

10/07/2026: Great and cozy bookstore with a good selection of books and other things. Friendly service and good atmosphere. They sell coffee in many varieties and there are weekly events.

23/07/2026: South Indian specialties - chicken seasoned with hot pepper/masala sauce and rice as well as a delicious eggplant dish 😋☀️ were absolutely perfect on our July bike ride into Aalborg in brilliant sunshine. The small elegant restaurant in Sankelmarksgade fully lived up to our expectations - and more 🥇 thank you for a lovely meal.

02/08/2026: The sausages were spicy, and the peppers added sweetness. A good everyday pizza.

16/07/2026: Very good pizza, no complaints. There are only two tables inside. If you're ever in the area, there's a park a little further away near a small pond where you can eat.

20/07/2026: The staff was very friendly and the pasta was absolutely delicious! We highly recommend this place.

08/04/2026: An authentic Danish breakfast with excellent "smørrebrød", local "snaps" and a good selection of beer. The service is impeccable and the location in it it self, reminds of an old danish taverna. Love this place, and well worth a visit!

24/06/2026: I've had falafel before, which was ok, but not great. Today I ordered a kebab, which was also ok, but not great. It lacked a bit of oomph. It felt like it was re-fried and without passion. It's a decent take-out, but not impressive. The food and service were average, but it felt like you'd stepped into a pocket of ethnic-local understanding.

08/07/2026: We’ve been popping in most days for a coffee and everyone is so lovely and friendly. The ice cream is all homemade and the chocolate ice cream is particularly fantastic, just the perfect balance of rich and not too sweet. We had such a lovely chat with the owner who ended up giving me a coffee on the house which really made my day. Just lovely.

24/06/2026: A super cute and charming café. The baristas are professional and relaxed. The coffee is excellent. Inside, you can buy fantastic croissants and other treats and enjoy them outside in the lovely square. You buy what you want yourself and then go to one of the many tables (inside/outside?). I'll be back!
