12/12/2025: Without a doubt Aalborg's, if not Denmark's, best pizza. There's a world of difference between Pompeii and your normal pizza place, both in terms of service and quality.

07/10/2025: 🍦🌊 A nice little ice cream parlor 🌊🍦 Well, FOR THE SOUTH! If you're looking for an ice cream that can knock you out like Mike Tyson in '86, then Guf & Kugler in Nibe is the place. The balls are so big that you need a knife, fork and a helmet to get through them. I have a black belt in ice cream eating, and even I had to capitulate halfway through. Normal people would have run away screaming with brain freeze and cold shock after just one ball. But the taste? It's right in the cupboard! It's like being kissed on the tongue by an Italian gelato master while he sings opera and sprinkles chocolate in slow motion. The hot dog? It was so good that for a moment I thought I was in a Michelin restaurant – just without all that crap with foam and microscopic plates. The atmosphere at the harbour is classic ice cream parlor culture: children with soft ice cream all over their faces, parents desperately searching for napkins, and of course the 72-year-old pensioner who believes it is her duty to teach the young employees how to serve a scoop of ice cream in 1953. “THAT TIME they gave the scoops with a spoon, young lady, and you stood straight when you handed it over!!” Damn it… I’m getting so tired of standing in line and listening to that. Give the young ones a break – they’re juggling balls the size of bowling balls while being shouted at by Bente from Hasseris. And yes, the staff can seem a bit reserved at times. But honestly – who wouldn’t be when you’re standing in a heatwave and serving 500-gram strawberry scoops to never-ending queues? I had a poker face myself after the first hour. All in all, Guf & Kugler in Nibe delivers giant balls, a treat for the soul and hotdogs that save the day. It's a place that makes you smile and shake your head – but always leaves happy. Rating: 4 out of 5 balls that should have their own postcode. I lost the last ball in the Limfjord because I was busy balancing a 3-ball soft ice cream monster with guf and jam.

21/09/2025: Arrived to a very long queue, which meant it was supposed to be the best ice cream of the summer, but we were disappointed. OK ice cream, but expensive and very small portion of deliciousness for 7 kr. Not worth the money at all. We have been there for the first and last time.

15/01/2026: Review of Byens Grill Kylling This place is a perfect example of how simplicity, quality, and care beat everything else. Despite the name being older than the current menu, Byens Grill Kylling serves freshly grilled shawarma and kebab made with excellent ingredients sourced locally, including fresh produce from the nearby QB market. You can taste the difference immediately—everything feels fresh, well-prepared, and made with pride. The menu is intentionally small, with around 10 dishes, and that focus really shows. Every order hits the spot. No unnecessary overload, no shortcuts—just good food done properly. The owner deserves special mention. He is genuinely kind, welcoming, and communicates clearly. You feel seen as a customer, not rushed or ignored. He makes sure you’re properly fed and happy with your order, which is sadly becoming rare these days. And the portion sizes? Absolutely ridiculous—in the best way possible. You will not leave hungry. In fact, you’ll probably struggle to finish it, but you’ll enjoy every bite. The place itself is small and modest, but that only adds to the charm. It feels authentic, clean, and honest—focused on what actually matters: great food and good people. If you’re looking for high-quality shawarma or kebab, made fresh with care, this is easily one of the best spots in town. A local gem that deserves support and repeat visits. Highly recommended.

28/09/2025: We came for dinner. The restaurant is beautifully located by the water and the view from the restaurant is fantastic. We ordered the taste of North Jutland and the children got homemade chicken fingers and an ice cream bar with ice cream from Vebbestrup. The food is delicious and there are some good flavor combinations that you get served. Remember to reserve a table, there were many guests in the heated conservatory. The ferry to the island sails entirely and half from Aalborg.

16/02/2026: Worst decision to choose seafood for our Valentine's dinner. 1500kr for what? We ordered lobster tails for starters, quite nicely cooked and flavorful. Then we come to the main course…. We had ordered tenderloin but instead got fillet, on top of that they served half a raw carrot, a flower of raw Broccoli, totally indifferent and bland. When I approach the waiter and say I got the wrong thing, I am asked “are you sure?” They take our plates and find some new food for us. When my “tenderloin” arrives, there are some long strips of meat with scenes in it. Ridiculously expensive compared to the food that is served. It was 1 piece ruined Valentine's night… The table next to us was also tried to cheat with beef fillet instead of tenderloin, luckily I asked and they had got the right thing because we didn't have that….

01/12/2025: I have eaten at Jin Shing many times where the food is always of fresh quality, but here on Sunday 30.11 where I got spring rolls with rice and curry I was disappointed. The "skin" on the spring roll was not crispy at all as it usually is. The spring roll tasted like it had just been in the microwave for a few minutes and the skin was tough 😞

17/01/2026: We had a gift certificate for the place to use and it had been several years since we had tried their all you can eat menu, so we tried them again... However, we were very disappointed by the long wait for orders, messy presentation of sushi, poor distribution between rice and contents (a lot of rice, especially in the nigiri pieces). The taste of the sushi pieces was also not delicious and the consistency was mushy in several of the pieces. We did eat up, but will not be back and cannot recommend the place.
