04/06/2025: I was going to celebrate my 30th birthday and was looking forward to an Italian buffet from Martin Kok. Unfortunately, I am left with a very sad experience. I had ordered for 50 people for delivery with the expectation that we would eat around 3 pm I had not received any confirmation, so I asked a few days before if they could confirm the number and time. Here they first confirm, but then change my delivery time to 12.30 with the beginning “it doesn’t fit well”. Here I would have liked that I didn’t have to contact them myself to find out, but peace be with it. When we are going to eat later, we are not far into the appetizers before it turns out that they have given us the wrong appetizer. They have given us a seafood salad from the Southern European buffet. In addition, 19 out of 49 end up not being allowed to taste the second appetizer, because there was not enough when it was their turn at the buffet. Of those who had received, 14 were children and the rest had limited themselves to 1 slice of carpaccio, as they considered that the quantity would not be enough - it was not. However, for the main course there was plenty of meat, which they should be commended for, but the accompanying chive pesto was not even half of what was given. We received 1 very small bowl for all those people. I contact them afterwards to give some feedback, praising the good things, but of course expressing my ambition for the mistakes. I am completely outraged by the treatment I received afterwards. The owner refuses to apologize or acknowledge the mistakes. First I am told that I have received a starter with a salad of shrimp, serrano and pesto (the one that belonged to my buffet) and even after I send him pictures of the seafood salad I received instead, I receive no apology (I had leftovers from that very starter, picture added here). When I write the part about the chive pesto, I just keep thinking that it can't be right, there wasn't enough for 50 and just ignore the fact that I was the one in the wrong here too (I'm attaching the bowl here). In relation to the carpaccio, the blame is also just thrown back at me with the accusation that the others must have taken too much (we all know that if it's 19 people who don't have enough, then there's something wrong with the quantity). For me, it's incomprehensible that you don't just apologize for the mistakes instead of indicating that the customer is lying... I won't order from there again and neither will the guests.

31/07/2025: We stayed here for two nights and liked it very much. The owner was very helpful and friendly, and the apartment was nice and clean with plenty of space for our family of four to sleep, hang out and cook our meals.

31/07/2025: We stayed for two nights in mid July. Very hospitable and friendly owner, rooms were large and as advertised. The kitchen was well equipped, and the whole apartment was fresh and clean. We will for sure return!

12/09/2025: A perfectly decent meal, a bit tasteless. Lousy service. Forgot about us, it wasn't okay. Especially since we were about the only guests there. Sad place, will never go back there! Reply to owner! You owner has clearly confused me with someone else. I'm not a young lady, nor did I go in and out again and then go directly to your alley, I didn't visit the neighboring place, I ate about half a portion of the food, it wasn't bad - just a little tasteless. A waiter showed me a place out to the back garden and forgot about me and my party there. Sad when the owner doesn't admit, but explains away. And then blames the guest. Stay away from this place when there is such an attitude here! New update! This is childish of the owner, update the answer and argue about who I am and what I eat and don't eat! Not serious! Here in Norway, service is paramount, "the customer is always right"! Here Cafe Kysten has A LOT to learn! You don't "argue" with guests and the owner just MUST and SHOULD be right! This is just so low-brow, this is NOT serious from the owner! I have never tasted shooting stars and I don't drink wine. And now I think you're changing your answer again!

30/08/2025: It was a wonderful evening with great food and service. You wouldn't have expected it from the outside, but it was a surprise.

25/07/2025: 260kr for their world buffet is too much. It is simply unreasonable to charge those prices for it, the quality and selection simply do not match. Think molslinjen buffet, but at double the price.

03/04/2025: Best price/value restaurant in Hjørring. Excellent service and really nice atmosphere. The service here i comparable with the best, the food tastes excellent so this place is an easy recommendation, highly recommended 😋

29/08/2024: Nice potato food and omelette. If the food is to have four stars, the rye bread must be home-baked and preferably crispy butter-fried for the omelette so that it is not soggy. But fresh lovely food we got. It is stressful to sit as a customer and watch a waiter have to be able to service an entire restaurant alone at the same time as she has to look after the bar. It's not okay. Poor staff

01/08/2025: Sad! Waste of money! There is some sushi, yes - but wok? What is that?! There are nuggets and fries and chicken skewers. Smaller children are happy, but older children are also waiting for something wok or something exciting. 🙁

22/06/2025: Best place in town Brutal rolls🤩 I paid too much and then I came down there and I don't want to say I talked nicely and it's my fault but anyway they handled it super professionally and finally got my money back Apologies to you who was standing there today at 2:10 pm or so😳

01/03/2025: Would give minus if possible!! Ordered 1 pizza + 1 round of nachos yesterday via Wolt - It was one of their own employees who delivered, which almost didn't care, didn't apologize in any way for the delay. The food was 30 minutes late, the pizza was almost cold and had several black "burn spots" The nachos had also been WAY too much Last time I order from there!!!!!!!

14/08/2025: Nice staff. The pizza was good. The ambiance, on the other hand...meh

13/08/2025: I didn't know that in Turkey kebab is made with curry and the pizza was dry... 2 meals for around 24 euros weren't worth the money.

19/08/2025: The food was okay... but only because we were hungry. I wouldn't recommend it for the price, though. The service was very friendly, so it deserves two stars.

22/07/2025: Vi har altid været glade for at komme her, men denne gang lod meget tilbage at ønske. 1. Rengøringen var mildt sagt lemfældig. 2. Det sproglige var på grænsen til det pinlige. 3. Maden virkede meget uinspireret og ikke særlig indbydende. 4. Den bestilte vegetarret var absolut ikke indbydende og ikke særlig lækker. Alt i alt en oplevelse vi godt kunne have været foruden. De går noget at skulle leve op til for at nå fordums gode indtryk.

12/06/2025: It worth the trip! Real italian food in a wonderful atmosfere. The chef and the staff are welcoming. The restaurant is in a central pedestrian street with nearby a parking area. The great is the food, but it is also interesting how many different types of coffes you can taste (as describes in a table): "bicerin" with chocolate is exceptional! Small quite and very nice also the city centre of the town: good for a nice walking after lunch or dinner.

01/08/2025: Unfortunately we were very unlucky with our order, and based on our experience we can just recommend people to avoid ordering pizza here. We ordered 3 pizzas, one of them the pommes frites pizza. That one came without pommes frites, just meat. All three pizzas was burnt with very dark cheese on them, and they did not taste good. I never throw away food, but these pizzas was not edible and we had to throw them in the bin and order food from the hotel we were staying. A very expensive experience for us.

06/09/2025: We were greeted by smiling and friendly staff, and the service was quick. Unfortunately the food was not very good, my husband got chicken salad, a very small portion, and there was more salad than chicken!!! My fish fillet was fried in rancid oil! So we were not as satisfied as the last time we were here.

30/08/2025: The atmosphere was nice and cosy until a pungent odour of drain suddenly hit us! We sat just opposite of the kitchen door and next to the toilets. It was awful but luckily we were done eating. The fish was too salty, unfortunately. Main meal very small with a little piece of cod and 3 tortellinis. Dessert was a chocolate mousse, quite nice but topped with a tasteless and chewy merengue. Unnecessary! More chocolate mousse and less trying to be chichi. Most surprising part of the dinner: the bill If you choose entry of the day, main of the day and dessert of the day you pay less then for the 3-course menu consisting of the exact same 3 dishes. The waitress argued that if’s the chef who sets the prices and this is how it’s done in Denmark. Well, so be it, but we won’t return in this case and felt a bit fooled. However, lovely Pinot Noir!
