16/05/2026: A real highlight! We moored our sailboat right in front of the smokehouse. They immediately helped us find shore power. The staff and the kitchen are sensational. The smoked goods are excellent; as a semi-professional cook, I know what I'm talking about. Definitely try the fish cakes, the smoked salmon, and the salmon salad. Cold draft beer, regional bottled beer, and super friendly people. This certainly won't be our last visit.

Food ok to very good. Great starter, ok main, nice desert. Good wines, also by the glass. Kind but extremely busy service. Kitchen understaffed.

05/11/2025: Wow! One of the best restaurant experiences.. After some research we decided to come here and were welcomed with such friendliness that we felt right at home.
Since there was no written food menu, the cook (owner?) Hilde came to our table and explained what she could prepare and let us choose.
The food was so fresh and delicious, prepared and served with love.. A very well balanced menu that left us more than happy. We also had some great non-alcoholic cocktails and super yummy desert.
A gem on the island!

Edit 2025: This review applies to the previous owner. There are various dishes and only one burger to choose from. We opted for the burger. The difference couldn't be greater. There's still a lot of room for improvement – both in terms of taste and appearance.
Perhaps the new team is still finding its feet!?

28/10/2025: It says on their website that they are open at 18:00 we came at 18:30 but it was closed and dark. We had not booked a table as it is a Tuesday evening 28/10-25 and not high season. But couldn't they write on their website which days they are open or that they are closed due to winter???
Fortunately, SuperBrugsen was open so you could buy something for dinner.

16/08/2025: What a bummer... In the middle of peak season, 7:40 p.m.... No more pizza dough... How stupid do you have to be? We were really looking forward to it and were hungry... hoping we can find another restaurant open now, which is supposed to be taking orders until 9:00 p.m.
14/08/2025: Self-service (we'll have to do that elsewhere) was easy. Choose your pizza, pay, and you're called when the food is ready. The pizza was good.

And I would like to emphasize that I am not usually a complainer, but on the contrary, quite spacious and decent.
We had booked a double room with a bath for 370 kr. extra, compared to their rooms without a bath.
When I went to take a shower in the morning, there was only cold water.
This can happen to even the best hotel, but the way it was handled was wildly amateurish and downright unpleasant.
When I mention it, completely calmly, at check-out and ask for a reasonable reduction in the price, the employees get angry and dismiss me by saying that they can't do that.
When I insist, I am bluntly told that I can get a 95 kr. discount or pay full price.
I ask if they are not available to talk to, as I think a discount of, for example, 150-200 would be more reasonable, in relation to the price of a room without a bath and then meet somewhere in between, but then I just get told that now they don't want to talk to me anymore and threaten me that if there is more, they will find my address and sort it out that way.
This is not about the money at all, but about the principle - I didn't get a single "we're sorry" or any understanding for anything. It is clear that they think it is my problem and I just have to live with that.
They argued aggressively that I could just take a cold shower, that would be healthy, or wait for them to get it done and then take a shower - we were about to check out, so that was of course not an option.
I will never come back here! And would recommend everyone to find one of the other accommodations in town, who can probably figure out how to speak nicely to other people and just a minimum of customer service.
But I could recommend them a basic course in customer service and general human courtesy and good communication.
Thanks for ruining my vacation day and my mood.

16/09/2025: We stayed in the hostel part, and it is from this experience that the rating is made. Really warm welcome. Good clean rooms, but the beds could be a little better. Shower and toilet in the hallway, both clean and neat. The breakfast is clearly above what you expect in a hostel, many homemade things.
04/08/2025: Absolutely fantastic place. The hostess is so fantastic and helps with everything...she is a bundle of energy. Super nice breakfast buffet...with everything you could want.
