05/04/2025: We had their burger. Hmm, if you're into pastries with cold cuts, it's fine. There was a lot of bread and probably the thinnest "steak" I've ever had. The waiter was nice enough until we commented on the lack of meat and the excessive amount of bread in the burger. After that, we were left to our own devices and had to walk quite a distance to get hold of someone who could arrange payment. Cozy surroundings, bright and delicious restaurant. The area around is just fantastic. It's definitely worth a visit...however..if you're into more than cold cuts and thin "steaks" then choose something other than the burger.

05/07/2025: A slightly mixed experience at Guldkroen I've visited Guldkroen for lunch a few times, and the location is definitely appealing. The inn is centrally located and has a lovely terrace with a view of the Little Belt, which is a big plus, especially on a sunny day. Remember to book a table in advance, because it's usually completely full for lunch. This time was no exception — there were many guests, and the atmosphere was lively. The service was actually quite good, considering how busy it was. The three waiters ran fast, but maintained a polite level and managed who was waiting for what. Unfortunately, it was especially the waiting time and the food itself that let the experience down. It took almost an hour before our food arrived on the table, and it felt like the kitchen was under tremendous pressure. I had chosen a fish platter for 190 kr., which sounded promising on the menu, but disappointed in reality. The herring was nice, but the rest felt a bit small and uninspired: a halved fish fillet that just covered the bread, and a piece of smoked eel that barely did. The taste was okay, but the dish seemed tacky and definitely not worth the money. All in all, I'm left with a slightly lukewarm feeling. Guldkroen certainly has potential with its location and cozy inn atmosphere, but the cuisine and price level don't match the quality of the plate — and the wait doesn't make it any better. My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ – 3 out of 5. Nice place to sit, nice service, but a long wait and a disappointing fish platter drag down the overall impression.

24/06/2025: Without a doubt the best rum balls in Denmark. Would definitely recommend stopping by and buying an “egg tray” to take home.

19/07/2025: Tak for mad 🙂 Vi bestilte stjerneskud i dag til at tage med hjem og hold da op en oplevelse 😀 Stjerneskud er min livret og der skal meget til at jeg spiser op. 2 store lækre spætter, god portion rejser, stort stykke laks som man virkelig kunne smage friskheden i. Meget sprød salat, agurk og en god håndfuld lækker sprød ærteskud. (citron & rogn behøver jeg ikke ;-)) Dressing ved siden af, så brødet og salat ikke er slattende vådt og kedeligt. Prikken over i’et er, at vi får det på en rigtig tallerken og det topper bare oplevelsen ekstra, så man ikke ender med et “væltet lokum” efter at ha rykket det fra plastikbakken 😀 Vi tager selvf. tallerknerne med næste gang vi kommer

06/06/2025: Super beautiful gem in the middle of Middelfart pedestrian street. Lovely premises and cozy atmosphere. Super delicious food, fast and friendly service. Reasonable prices. Definitely recommended.

17/07/2025: Here is a pancake recipe: Put flour, vanilla sugar, cardamom, salt and lemon zest in a bowl and add half of the milk. Whisk the batter until smooth and free of lumps - and add the rest of the milk. Melt the butter in a pan and add it to the mixture. Add the egg and whisk the batter well. Bake the pancakes until they are golden.

11/07/2025: Absolutely fantastic authentic Italian pizza with good ingredients - simple and tasty. Fast and friendly service. Lovely cozy atmosphere indoors, and nicely decorated with flowers outside - and occasionally you can hear conversation in Italian from the kitchen or Italian music❤️ thank you, for that matter. And another plus that we always notice: The restaurant's toilets are really nicely done - they are probably older, but very well kept.

04/07/2025: The food was good but the service was terrible. When you've bought a burger and two hotdogs, I don't expect to be reprimanded for my kids eating some home-cooked food - too bad, because it's otherwise a very nice place.

10/06/2025: We walked in here tonight without a reservation and were offered a perfect spot. What a beautiful place, a place where you immediately feel at home! Service super friendly and helpful. The food was really delicious, we enjoyed it. In short: a great experience and we will definitely come back!

17/07/2025: Maden smagte fint, udsigten var rigtig flot. Desværre er portionsanretningerne ALT for små og udskænkning af vine fra vinmenuen var til grin hvis ikke man følte sig røvrendt. Ingen tilbud om en lille opfyldning eller måske et ekstra stykke kalvesteg (der var en lille skive på tallerkenen til hovedretten). Sjældent har vi haft en fornemmelse af at være røvrendt når en restaurant regning skulle betales.
