01/11/2025: Went to have dinner on Halloween night. The place was packed, everyone was having a good time. The service was top-notch and the food was extremely delicious. The pizza is rather average but not bad.

05/01/2026: Unfortunately, we were misled by the 4-star rating here. We ordered bruschetta with tomatoes (around €10 for a piece of bread with pesto and sliced ​​tomatoes), lasagna (around €20), and pizza mortadella with burrata and pistachio (around €24). We also ordered two non-alcoholic cocktails (around €10 each) and bottled water. The pizza and bruschetta tasted okay, but they were outrageously overpriced! The lasagna was an absolute disgrace! The pasta sheets were clearly overcooked, and the sauce was tasteless. The presentation is debatable, but I've never had lasagna served like that before.

05/01/2026: The best thing, both in terms of taste and price, was the cocktail at 75 DKK. The starter was a mere hint of bruschetta: a small piece of toasted bread with three cherry tomatoes, each cut in half, placed on top, a few arugula leaves, some pesto, and a few sunflower seeds scattered around it, but this didn't justify the price of 89 DKK. For the main course, we had pizza mortadella and lasagna. We don't have much to say about the pizza; it was delicious, with fluffy dough, generous portions, and the price was reasonable. The lasagna, however, was an abomination. Honestly, you could sell it to babies; you don't need to chew it at all, the pasta was unrecognizable, and the seasonings probably only saw the microwave window. I've only ever experienced something so bland and mushy from my nephew's baby food jars. Moreover, it was drowned in a very bland tomato sauce, whatever else it was doing on top of the mushy lasagna, and all for only 139 DKK. We're not very picky about food and we're happy to pay a euro more if it's good, but in addition to the bad food, the service was terrible. It's one thing to not have mastered the craft (everyone starts somewhere, no problem), but the rudeness is unacceptable in service; it certainly didn't seem like they could do without a tip. It's a real shame, because it's in a great location, a lovely restaurant decorated with great attention to detail, but 600 DKK for food that didn't taste good is outrageous.

14/11/2025: Service spoke and understood only English Ordered 2 steak sandwiches which were cold, sauce was cold, bun was cold and soft, steak was lukewarm, went up with both plates tell the server that it is cold yes she says okay, takes the plates says it will take a while, hear the microwave start up after some time she comes with the steak sandwich without saying anything, then unfortunately notices that my food is still cold, sauce cold, bun cold and soft, steak cold, the only thing that is warm is our fries, When I make the server aware of it, she ignores me, I will not give 140 kr. 17/09/2025: If you want a good bowl of ramen in Aarhus, this is not the right place. I wish I would've taken a photo for proof, but sadly whatever I was served today for Tonkatsu ramen, looked absolutely nothing like the photos others have posted. Since most of the photos are older, maybe they have changed their recipe? Or they were low on some ingredients today? I don't know. Regardless - all that my tonkatsu ramen had in it for toppings were some bean sprouts and half an egg. That's it - no other veggies, nothing green. Just a sad bowl of brown and bland. The noodles were soggy and mushy, and the three bite-sized pieces of pork in it were cooked okay, but had absolutely zero flavor or spices. And to top it off, the portion was very small - the broth+noodles didn't even fill half the bowl, which for 140dkk I expected a LOT more value than three bites of pork and some soggy noodles. My fiance got the shoyu, and was similarly unimpressed. His bowl was underfilled and underwhelming taste-wise. He said the shoyu broth just tasted like water mixed with soy sauce, with no depth or flavor to it at all. The only toppings HE had were spring onions, half an egg, and a slice of bell pepper (what?). We both joked that we could've made better ramen out of instant noodles and what we had leftover in our fridge. It gets an extra star because the interior was very nicely decorated, they have board games you can play for the wait (service is rather slow - we waited 38 minutes to get our food), and the people there were friendly. If you're looking for a place to grab some snacks and drinks and hang out with friends, this is probably a great spot! If you're looking for a good bowl of ramen, do NOT come here. Go to Gaijin instead. P.s. Also avoid the kimchi, it's doesn't have any spices or flavors and is not proper kimchi, it's basically just a small bowl of random pickled veggies.

16/01/2026: It has always been a pleasure to get food from Jerry's. Only once have I experienced an error with my order, but as soon as I pointed it out, they were quick to offer a solution that was satisfactory.

05/03/2026: Okay pizza with chicken (not much though), salad and own dressing which tasted pretty good. A boring place with no coziness at all

25/08/2025: The staff was wonderfully friendly and attentive, even though we were rather picky guests when it came to choosing our seats – but to be fair, all of them are lovely, which makes the decision tricky. We ordered the catch of the day, though it seems nothing had actually been caught. The fish that arrived was delicious and nicely prepared – but about the size of a fish stick. Let’s just say it was more of a “snack of the day.” The carrot on the side was warm on the outside, but so firm inside that our donkeys at home would probably have enjoyed it more than we did. To keep myself at least somewhat full, I turned to the potatoes with hollandaise sauce. All in all, it was still a very pleasant evening with great service and a lovely atmosphere – I just happened to go home a bit hungry.

24/08/2025: The cakes are 50/50. We got one good and one really bad. The place is a bit boring to sit.

15/08/2025: Can't say much about the food, but their selection of cakes was large. And what we tasted was really good. The staff was really nice and friendly.

11/10/2025: Stopped by for a beer. Cozy and nice. Friendly staff.

25/08/2025: We arrived on Monday morning at 11am with our 1 week old daughter in a stroller. We sat outside in the sun, where there was plenty of space. When the waiter came, we were told that a stroller was not allowed as it took up space on the tables. It has been a long time since I have experienced something so snobbish. A café should welcome its customers - even the little ones!

27/07/2025: Went there and they said they didn't have "the capacity to clear tables at the moment", they had no line in the bar and several tables that were abandoned with dirty glasses and stuff left behind. Me and 1 friend cleared one of those tables in 1 min while their bartenders slacked off.

02/10/2025: Small cafe, doesn't feel cozy cuz it's just next to the entrance to the department store. Cherry matcha was ok, but without cherries, just with jam... Blueberry cupcake is amazing ✨🫐

11/09/2025: Terrible service. We order sandwiches for pick up. Walk all the way down and meet a young employee who just says “is it for (my name)”. I say yes and then she says “yes, it’s cancelled, it’s sold out” and then she turns her back and starts all sorts of things. No. It wasn’t cancelled on your part and wow what a service. No alternative solution, no apologies, nothing. Totally indifferent. Thanks for the experience - fantastic

11/10/2025: It is a nice pub, with nice atmosphere, specially for karaoke night. However, you will struggle to participate in the karaoke unless you are danish. I have been here several times, and this has been my impression, but the las time really kicked it out of the stadium. We enqueued some songs for the karaoke (nothing exotic, toto, queen, and others) and they were instantly rejected. They told me they got rejcted because we were including more than our name in the request (*name* and gang). I pointed out to the guy that there were a few people who already sang with names ending with similar things: *name* and co. . He then proceed to edit their names, while keeping them on the queue. Also, only one of our requests had this format. The others only had my first name: "Jose". So long story short: if your name doesn't sound English/danish, they will just assume it is made up, and will boot you off the list. I guess alternatively you could use a fake name, or you could avoid this place altogether. I think I will be opting for the latter. On previous occasions I learned that you would have to wait sometimes more than an hour to sing anything that is not in danish or English. The previous time I tried, I had to go to the guy to ask wtf happened to my request, after waiting for an hour and a half, and seeing the same people go up to the mic 2 or 3 times. He just said oh yeah right! And pushed me up the list to be next on queue. I suspect he was keeping me last, so I did not even try this last night.

26/09/2025: A friendly British style pub run by an ex-pat who was really nice. A good selection of draft and bottled beers and ciders; a nice atmosphere, we did visit mid-week so it was less busy than usual.

26/11/2025: I don't know what it is and how they planned to make it work, but I didn't know I was in a disco when I wanted to eat my Joe's club, which btw was almost colder than Denmark right now. The music was also so loud that we had to sit in silence instead of enjoying ourselves and talking. But I'm glad the staff had fun... 😐

08/03/2026: We were four people - and had been looking forward to a good experience! It wasn't. There is no reasonable relationship between price and quality - not to mention quantity. ONLY visit Dauphine if you are NOT hungry. In particular, the main course was smaller than expected or a child's portion. with COLD small pieces of Jerusalem artichokes. The squash course tasted bad - to my taste. The dessert tasted good - but the lentil base was poor and probably bought in a supermarket. Dear Dauphine: I don't think you can be familiar with it. Not at all harmony between price, quantity and quality. Regretted we had driven almost 200 km - to visit you regards. peder kirkeby

21/02/2026: Had read the good reviews and chose Dauphine for our trip out to the Aarhus food scene in connection with Dining Week. Unfortunately, the evening was characterized by the need to rush through, and that the chosen menu should be easy to reheat and serve. The starter was not balanced - large temperature differences between the cold and the hot on the plate, the main ingredient, a "salmon terrine" of some kind, had not been out of the fridge long enough. The main course was unacceptably small, but otherwise tasty. The dessert was quite ok. But again, the feeling that it was just a matter of serving pre-cooked food prepared for the hordes permeated the experience. Unfortunately, the service was not good either. We were received by a man who was clearly not used to being in the restaurant (kitchen?), he barely said hello, did not point out a wardrobe in the somewhat narrow space, was not present and was in a hurry to move on, could not advise on a simple level regarding the choice of wine, "it was a white wine", no one ever asked if it tasted good or if it was satisfactory, no one came and asked if the drinks needed to be refilled, a woman suddenly came and cleared the table and reached over us without a single expression, no words, no one said what was going to happen next (pre-ordered 3-course menu). We approached the serious draft from the window facing the street, where we were sitting right up and down. The winter weather was really taking hold, but we asked nicely if it was possible to get another table, because it was raw cold for the legs to sit up against a leaky window at full height. It was swept away pretty quickly without making an impression. I don't usually write reviews, and am usually pretty generous as long as people make an effort and/or are nice and friendly, and the food is reasonable, but the whole experience just wasn't good and we couldn't finish fast enough. We won't be coming here again, although a regular a la carte evening is probably a different experience.
