04/11/2024: Fint originalt restaurant lokale med et pænt interiør, der får en til at slappe af. De tre retter bestemt af kokken var fortrinlig og velsmagende. Morgenmaden bord serveres og var overvældende. Men stolene med høj lodret ryglæn passer ikke en dårlig ryg og en pude kunne ikke desværre ikke skaffes.

29/12/2024: Definitely South Jutland's best coffee and so on. The bread is specially selected and local cold cuts only make the experience even greater. The place is very cosy, and the decor is different from the usual cafés. The local butchers are really good at their craft. A big thank you to Michael, and the coffee trunts who serve, especially "Queen Ida", which unfortunately is NOT there anymore!! Give yourself an experience and try this cafe.

08/11/2024: Die Vaffelboden-Filiale in Sønderborg überzeugt mit ihrer einladenden Atmosphäre und aufmerksamem Service. Das mehrsprachige Personal sorgt für eine reibungslose Verständigung auf Dänisch, Englisch oder einer Kombination aus beidem – besonders hilfreich für alle, die Dänisch lernen. Das Lokal ist ideal für eine unkomplizierte und rundum gelungene kleine Auszeit. Sehr zu empfehlen!

25/08/2024: Very tasty soft ice cream 🍦 and “normal” ice cream 🍨. Plus friendly service who also speaks German. Absolutely recommended. 👍

22/11/2024: Super cozy place to have a cup of coffee, cappuccino or whatever you want. Good service and happy staff who come and ask if everything is good or if something is missing.

03/11/2024: An oasis in Sønderborg. Finally a cozy café again. The cake is simply delicious. The café is small, cozy, rustic and you can take a nice break here. The employees are very accommodating and you just feel comfortable here.

13/01/2025: We were lucky to come across this really cute café on our New Year's Eve vacation. Dogs are welcome, which is unfortunately sometimes a bit of a challenge in Denmark. You sit directly at the harbor and can look out over the water. Really a very nice atmosphere. The nice ladies in the café can also speak and understand a little German, which of course makes everything easier. It was by far the best ice cream cake we have ever eaten, we had the Biscoff Lemon Curd flavor! Some types of ice cream are also indescribably delicious! Our favorite of the ones we tested was the rum ball variety. You can also choose two varieties per ball instead of one variety per ball, i.e. half balls. Which was really perfect for me because unfortunately I can't make a lot of ice cream, but I would like to try a lot of it. Despite the high prices (due to the chocolate and sugar tax in Denmark), we even went there a second time because we thought it was so great and delicious. But you also have to say that the balls are really big. We were thrilled. The toilets are very clean and tidy, also suitable for disabled people as it is a large room. Our next vacation near Sønderborg will definitely lure us back to this cafe!

02/01/2025: Delicious ice cream, ice cream cakes and coffee. I assume everything was made by myself. Of course it's not exactly cheap, but I think that's normal for Denmark.

01/12/2024: We visited on a quiet Saturday evening. There was clearly more activity in the take away than in the restaurant. We both got their Bacon Burger which was smashed. I got fries and my wife got chili cheese fries. The burgers were amazing. One of the best I've had in a long time. The fries were fine. Not so much there. My wife didn't think her chili cheese fries were the way she likes them, but her expectation was American chili cheese fries with fake cheese, so that explains it.

31/10/2024: It's great to see how much a professional chef can conjure up smørrebrød. Top class worth a visit, the level of service is also top class.

11/10/2024: Nice restaurant in Sonderborg, food is good, portions are small and the cocktails are amazing. Unfortunately we weren't fully satisfied as it was difficult choosing the dishes of the menu. First or all there is no English menu, would be helpful to have some ready for foreign guests. Second, the restaurant was very unflexible when you wanted to swap the dishes of the menu. From the menu card it looked like you could freely chose, but that wasn't the case. For the 3 course there is just one option possible, otherwise you take the 5 courses and get all 5 dishes. Very confusing and not what I am used to from a higher class restaurant. Too bad. Still good enough to have a great evening, will consider twice if I should come back.

01/12/2024: Had found this wonderful place online and it certainly lived up to the reviews. Although smørrebrød in nicely large portions, I would like to recommend freshly fried mushrooms and bacon for the liver pâté, instead of cold from the fridge. Top class service, from a very nice and professional young man. We were the only ones in the restaurant for this lunch, but it was just lovely. Definitely worth a detour 😍
