24/08/2026: They don't have much trust in their fellow humans. First of all, you have to pay for gas you haven't gotten and then you have to go back in to show a receipt to get your money back. It's a completely stubborn, stupid way to do it. But that's obviously how it is today. No one trusts anyone today in today's Denmark.

18/10/2026: Had lunch on a Saturday. I booked a table 20 minutes before arrival, and experienced two people being turned away just before we were seated. So it's probably a good idea to book. We had a look at restaurant SvendborgSund. It was completely empty, and so we booked here. We were incredibly happy with that. The sandwiches are of the highest quality. Next time I will order half pieces, I saw them at other tables, and they were a lot bigger than I had thought, and of course give you the opportunity to have more taste experiences. Drinks are more expensive, but that's how it is these days.

26/07/2026: Way too expensive, a small round chocolate cake cost 175,- DKK. We drove again.

22/10/2026: Super nice service when we pulled up with dogs and asked for cider. Nice atmosphere on a Thursday afternoon, nice waiters and the menu looks good too - we'll try that next time.

16/06/2026: Dear Gitte and Rasmus, Thank you so much for a wonderful day with you on Saturday - June 2026. It was an absolute pleasure to hold our annual family reunion at Skipperkroen. The food was fresh, tasty and plentiful. The service was extremely discreet, friendly and efficient. The table setting was so nice and beautifully arranged. The four round tables made the conversations very good and everyone could feel comfortable. MANY THOUSANDS OF THANKS for making our day festive, enjoyable and where everyone felt comfortable. 23/07/2026: If you're a coffee snob like me, you can definitely drink coffee here. I've been here twice, one time was ok and the second time was really good. They have beer from Svendborgsund; it's good.

24/07/2026: Another one of the lovely brown pubs. You are warmly welcomed by both the bar lady and guests. The young girl at the bar was extremely friendly and had her birthday on Thursday, July 23, 2 days after we visited the place 2026 🇩🇰 Absolutely worth a visit and as you can see they have a large selection of beers 🍺

05/10/2026: This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Denmark and in Svendborg. The pizza is delicious and Milena and Gianni, the owners, always create a Sicilian, Italian atmosphere. They are very friendly. They play great Italian music. The wine and limoncello are excellent. We come to La Pupa with friends and family🥰🥂🫶

04/10/2026: A tomato salad with onions, feta and olives for 150 kroner, you start with the expectation that it will be deliciously prepared with good ingredients. But no: a couple of very roughly chopped tomatoes, a pile of also roughly chopped onions, 6/7 huge olives of the kind you can buy in a standard supermarket, and a bit of 'salad cheese' of the usual boring kind you find in any low-cost supermarket. All thrown into a deep plate and there you go. Oil/vinegar is on the table. Really poor. These are the most expensive tomatoes and onions I have ever set my teeth into. With that I got two tiny tiny and rather dry ciabatta buns, they were about the same size as the package of Lurpak butter that came with the poor basket. I ended up sending the main course, lasagna, back, it was almost inedible and soft as porridge. Tasteless and boring minced meat with lasagna sheets in between that had almost disintegrated in the dish that floated in a tomato sauce that also tasted of nothing. It must be said that the criticism of the lasagna was well received by the owner of the restaurant. She tried to explain why the lasagna was the way it was, and ended up apologizing and offering to remove the dish from the bill. She offered to bring another dish from the menu, but when I said no, she appeared uninvited with a couple of bruschetta on the house bill. Very nicely and properly done, but that does not change the standard of the quality of the food in general. For the other 3 people at the table, the food was ok, but not worth a return visit. Unfortunately. I also did not have the heart to say anything about the tomato salad as it was all clearly also part of the general standard. But super sweet and polite, a family-owned restaurant with commitment and a good atmosphere, so too bad. Maybe they should consider changing the chef and raising the quality of the ingredients they use.

10/08/2026: Thurø Stuen is more of a cozy, older-style pub than a classic restaurant. The value for money is excellent: the portions are very generous, and the food was consistently delicious – honest, traditional German cuisine at its best! The staff was consistently friendly, and everything was spotless. The menu is manageable (around three children's menus and six or seven main courses), which is perfectly adequate. Our only, but significant, criticism: upon entering, you immediately notice the smell of smoking. This is a real drawback if you're traveling with children. If you can overlook this, you'll get good, honest food for your money.
