20/08/2026: It all seems a bit tired, bowling lanes fumble more than the players do and you have to look for the staff for a long time if you need help. Of course there are not many guests on a Wednesday night so even the buffet was tired of waiting.

19/07/2026: There was a shortage of size 43 shoes for bowling and you can't order from the table before the game starts and why can't you just start on a lane when it's unused.

06/06/2026: We stopped by Trier's Corner because they had caipirinha on the drinks menu. Their caipirinha is the real deal; they made it with the typical Brazilian liquor called Cachaça 51.

09/06/2026: A takeaway pizzeria with five small tables as well. The pizzas, however, are delicious.

01/08/2026: We wanted to buy four fresh sandwiches at this gas station, two of which were vegetarian. There was nothing vegetarian to be found. When I asked if there was anything vegetarian, the employee said: no! She did not offer to make sandwiches, and a friendly answer was out of the question. Just one word: no!

13/07/2026: We had a really good experience at Circle K. We were in a stressful situation when we had problems with our car, and the clerk really took the time to help us. He was incredibly accommodating, which made a huge difference when we were a bit panicked. The amazing service and care meant that we left with a smile on our face, even though the day had started badly. Thank you so much for your help – employees like that really make a difference!

21/05/2026: Went with former DFDS colleagues today for a lovely dinner with fantastic food. Stop by for some well-prepared homemade food, no pouring anything out of containers. Nice staff and no stress even though the place was full 😋😋😋😋😋

05/05/2026: Cheese and bacon burger. A quiet and cosy place. One man running the restaurant. Great burger and fries, and the prices are good value by danish standards. I didn't have any of the middle eastern dishes but the burger was great. Excellent

03/02/2026: Cool baker clearly having a great time while working the dough—good vibes all around. It’s self-service, and he accepts cash, PayPal, and mobile pay, so no stress there. The kanelbullar were *excellent*: soft, packed with flavor, and dangerously easy to eat more than one. Worth stopping by just for those.

09/08/2026: We come here for a meal at least twice every holiday. It's clean, the food is excellent, and the service is very friendly.

13/08/2026: Stopped by during a boat trip. Had a burger that was super tasty and filling. The potatoes/fries were also super delicious! The waiters were also sweet, funny and friendly.

14/03/2026: It is a sad, "Trumpified" trend that is spreading in our society. Trust has always been one of many Danish virtues, but if you choose to pay cash at McDonalds, all trust is gone. The order is only processed when the money is in the till. I perceive that as distrust, as if I would automatically run away from the bill. I have never experienced having to pay for my food before I ate at a Danish restaurant. And McDonalds likes to call itself a Family Restaurant, but unfortunately I cannot agree with that predicate. 24/02/2026: Ordered takeaway food - but no napkins in the bag... It's obviously too difficult a task, and it's far from the first time it's happened...🙄

10/07/2026: There were 2 of us who had lunch there. We can really recommend their pasta dish and their sourdough bread with salmon. We also had cool white wine, Chardonney, The service was top notch. A lovely place, we will definitely come again

05/07/2026: As a trained waiter, old restaurateur and 30 years in the industry, cafe Mauritz was a disappointing choice. We had received a morebox gift card as a gift, and when we were going to Svendborg we chose to use this at cafe Mauritz in Svendborg. We had booked the table two weeks in advance, and had pointed out that we had this morebox gift card with us. Still, we were told in an insulted manner by the restaurateur that they did not take these on the weekend, but then it went this time, and this was despite the fact that his shop was completely empty. The deal was that we could choose two optional dishes from the menu, but he changed it so that we could use it as cash (then he got a little more money in the till after all) I didn't feel like discussing it with him so it was fine. We couldn't complain about the service, because there was no one. In general, we didn't feel welcome. The restaurateur was angry and no one came and asked if it tasted good. The food was as expected, it was the only place in Svendborg we could choose so that's why it was there. But I didn't expect anything else than what I got. 200 gr. Beef fillet was fried perfectly and tasted good. From there it was the fries that had been given too little, Erik's bearnaise (from a bucket) salad from a bag, parmesan flakes from a bag, croutons from a bag, dressing from a can. I think they had sneaked up to cut a tomato themselves. My boyfriend got a shooting star, except it wasn't a shooting star, so the story was the same, everything from a bag and bucket. In short, it had nothing to do with cooking. And the fact that you put everything in small bowls shows that you don't even bother to make an effort. We got a couple of lemonades that were really good. The premises and interior were cozy, except that there was no light in our lamp, which I took as another sign that they didn't really care. If we had met a few smiles and friendly staff, we would probably have bought something more and left a little tip. And the tip bowl at the checkout is tasteless, if you provide good service, it will come all by itself and without that kind of begging. But then again, you don't really care. As an old restaurateur, I understand very well how annoying these boxes are, but now that you've gone into it yourself, you have to deliver too. If you don't want to provide proper service for your guests, you should find another job. But I guess we're not the only ones who have had this experience, because when we walked down the street the next day we could see that all the displays were full, but there were only two customers at Mauritz's. I don't think Cafe Mauritz will put a tip there next time we come to Svendborg. I've never written a bad review for a restaurant before because I know how devastating it can be, and if we had felt welcome I wouldn't have written this one either.

17/07/2026: We had roast pork, parsley root and potatoes, which tasted good and were plentiful, and a large, well-poured bamsa.

13/07/2026: Order a drink and a hot cocoa. You then had to wait almost 25 minutes for the hot cocoa, as it was put in the same queue as the shrimp cocktail and steaks. A small thing that could perhaps be informed about when ordering…

05/05/2026: Excellent, small "satellite hotel" which is linked to Hotel Svendborg up by the "Gylletanken" in the center. The hotel is unmanned, but if you have any questions about check-in, breakfast, etc. you can call Hotel Svendborg or alternatively visit them on foot or by car, it is not very far away and on the route you will see many of Svendborg's "sights"!
