22/05/2026: Absolutely delightful and charming restaurant with delicious food as an American. I had no idea what to expect but ended up with a great smorgasbord sandwich. The fish was fresh fried and delightful way. Everything pickled was extraordinary if you’re in town definitely worth the trip.

16/05/2026: We wanted local food, and we got it. As soon as you step into this restaurant, you're immersed in a very typical local atmosphere. Clearly, there were quite a few Danes. They even mistook us for Danes, speaking to us in the language. We were given Danish menus. We had to insist on being spoken to in English. It was an unusual experience, as we had to translate the menus using Google Translate. We ended up ordering the "surprise" open-faced sandwiches and weren't disappointed. A nice glass of Californian red wine to go with it. Very pleasant.

11/06/2026: In Hornbæk, there are either “cheap” places with fish and chips that are completely ok, or average restaurants “price wise” that can’t cook at all, but charge crazy prices, and are completely tasteless. Or there is Oliva which is a bit more expensive but the “most economical” place in the village. By Swedish standards “normal” prices 😅 Fantastic! A truly genuine atmosphere where the owner couple works in the kitchen and the service and really takes care of you, the glasses never seem to run out and really, really good food! Worth a trip just for the visit, especially when they have a special evening, like when we visited, (seafood evening)

23/06/2026: Doesnt look like much,- But Maybe the best Thai food in dk. Food is authentic and every single dish I’ve tried is spot on. Fair warning,- the chef will spice it up to the real Thai experience. 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Do yourself a favor and try the Cashew chicken! It’s delicious!

03/04/2026: Tasty Thai food in nice size portions. It is a take away place but we ate in at one of the 2 small tables. It’s not restaurant but I like that it’s more like a street food place with just tasty food. It was a bit cold as it was a cold spring day. Nice and spicy and fair prices. You have to deal with some wok smoke and fragrance og stirring fried Thai food 😋. The food arrived very quickly.

29/03/2026: Was there for Sunday brunch. We arrived half an hour before the buffet closed but there was still fresh food. Not a buffet with many dishes but on the other hand of good quality and both tasty and appetizing. Hygiene is high and service good by nice young people.

14/05/2026: Ciao Ciao on Nordre Strandvej in Helsingør is one of those restaurants where everything just works. We started the evening with garlic bread, which was exactly as it should be. For the main course, we chose beef tenderloin, and it certainly did not disappoint. The meat was tender and tasty, and it was clear that the ingredients here are in control. But the absolute highlight of the evening came last: a vanilla ice cream with biscuits and caramel, which was simply irresistible. The kind of dessert you talk about on the way home. The staff deserve a special mention along the way. The service was absolutely top-notch – attentive, warm and professional without being intrusive. You felt really welcome from the first bite to the last. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and it all contributes to an evening that just feels right. Ciao Ciao is a must-visit in Helsingør – whether it's for a romantic dinner or an evening with friends. We'll be back!

21/11/2025: Cozy, warm and close. Little games make something special. Made the atmosphere better and broke the ice between us. Can only recommend the place - for the small group that just needs coffee and the warmth again.

24/07/2025: I loved this spot!! I will dream about their blood orange drink. The meal (a salad) was flavorful and colorful! Both qualities that I always appreciate in food. The gals working, were working hard and were lovely! I enjoyed the location and orientation of tables outward towards the courtyard! This was a nice reprieve during an unusually hot afternoon!

09/06/2026: Was at a conference with overnight stay. Beautiful hotel with an atmosphere of the "old" days with nice decor. Service was faultless and the room was nice and clean. There are also good parking options close to the hotel at a reasonable price. Or free a few minutes walk away.

07/06/2026: We had a wonderful stay at Marienlyst Strandhotel. The hotel is beautifully located right by the sea, with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and unwind. Our room was spacious and luxurious, featuring an incredibly comfortable bed and a large bathroom with two showers. Everything was thoughtfully designed and made our stay feel truly special. Although we did not have dinner at the hotel, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast early in the morning. The quality and selection were excellent and provided a perfect start to the day. I also visited the spa. While parts of it are currently under renovation, there were still facilities available to enjoy, and the experience was very relaxing. I am already looking forward to returning once the renovation is completed. One of the highlights of the hotel is its fantastic location. Sitting by the sea with a glass of wine, enjoying the view of Kronborg Castle (Hamlet’s Castle), or taking a peaceful walk along the waterfront creates a truly memorable experience. Marienlyst Strandhotel is one of the most beautiful and relaxing places I have visited in Denmark. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and peaceful getaway, and I cannot wait to return.

21/12/2025: Excellent place.. nice swimming pool, Sauna, cold punch, jacuzzi.. all good!

14/12/2025: Opposite of train station, but further nothing to do nor any bar or restaurant (beside a good but small grill store) in the neighborhood on waking distance. Hotel comes with wellness and conference facilities. Rooms without complementary water. Hotel restaurant pretence to offer fancy food; at least it is pricy. But very good breakfast buffet.

15/05/2026: Very misleading prices. The prices shown here are much lower. In reality, the chicken pizza costs 99. Personally, I don't think it's worth the price because of how little you get. It's just tomato sauce and a few slices of chicken breast.

07/03/2026: Probably the best pizza I've tasted in Denmark. Had 0 expectations - but was mindblown! The dough is so delicious and the taste is just all in all super nice. Ordered a caroffel pizza! You're welcome to open in West Zealand, thank you :-)
