20/03/2026: A Danish friend took us to this place and we couldn’t have been more grateful. The restaurant has a charming vintage atmosphere with a beautiful view of the ferry — the kind of setting that makes you want to linger. The food was simply splendid. The menu is a lovely representation of modern Danish cuisine, with a strong focus on seafood and recipes that genuinely reflect the flavours of Denmark. A highlight were the small Danish potatoes — humble, but absolutely delicious and so authentically local. The service was warm and very attentive throughout. This is exactly the kind of place you’d only discover through a local, and exactly the kind of place you’ll want to come back to. Highly recommended!

05/12/2025: Unfortunately. The pork roast was hard and cold and could not be eaten. We told the staff what we thought but got no reaction.

11/04/2026: The place was open for a private party and the rest of the restaurant didn't open until 4pm, we were there at 2pm and were initially turned away, the waiter asked if we wanted to sit on the covered terrace if he turned on the gas heaters, we said ok and they opened for us so we could have lunch. 👍 From here good style and service So we didn't drive in vain

07/09/2025: They have a small menu with local dishes. We had very tasty crispy fried plaice. Unfortunately, there are only a few tables outside, and they fill up very quickly. Friendly service.

30/08/2025: A cozy and elegantly furnished restaurant where you immediately feel comfortable. Very attentive and likeable waitress and waiter. Great food, very fresh and exquisite. We’ve had three different main courses and were all very satisfied. A must go when you are in this part of Denmark. We’ll be back! Thank you for the nice evening!

08/02/2026: We visited on a Sunday for brunch and arrived at 11am (brunch starts at 10am). Upon arrival, there were no plates available, so we had to stand and wait before we could even eat. When we finally got to the buffet, the French bread was frozen and it took a long time for it to be refilled. What was served were small buns, and there was only one rye bread available. Yogurt only came out at the very end, and the coffee pots were repeatedly empty. In general, the refilling of both food and drinks was very poor, and the service did not meet expectations in any way. In addition, we were seated extremely closely. All tables were booked, but there was so little space that you could hardly pull out your chair without the person next to you having to move. It felt both uncomfortable and unsafe, especially if an emergency were to arise. Guests who arrived had to wait in line for a long time before being welcomed, which meant that the front door was left open for a long time. This resulted in us, who were sitting and eating, getting cold. All in all, a very disappointing experience, both in terms of service, food and setting. We will not be back.

07/04/2026: Very nice and cosy hotel in phantasic surroundings down to sea. Overview over sea from hotel rooms. Exstreamly nice and service oriented staff. Professionel service in restaurant and food on a very high level. Close to Helsingør, so easy to go for a walk through the old streets. If you are staying for more days you could easily take a train to Copenhagen or the ferry to Helsingborg. But remember to enjoy all facilities at hotel.

16/10/2025: Super cozy little place on the harbor. I had a delicious salmon sandwich and it was enough to fill me up. A nice place to sit and look out over the water.

07/04/2026: Very nice location in Hornbæk - close to the water and beach. The breakfast is quite basic and limited. Unfortunately, Cappuccino and other drinks cost extra and they do not prepare fresh egg dishes.

25/03/2026: Got a deal on Gourmetophold, and chose an extra day. Got a nice room with plenty of space. The bed was nice. The bathroom was missing a few hooks, in our opinion. Gourmet dinner with wine menu was very delicious. All five courses were beautifully prepared and the accompanying wines as well. The service was just perfect. The breakfast was beautifully prepared, and plenty of homemade bread, freshly made waffles and more. We were very full. Hope to have the opportunity to visit Hotel Bretagne again.

21/11/2025: Cozy, warm and close. Little games make something special. Made the atmosphere better and broke the ice between us. Can only recommend the place - for the small group that just needs coffee and the warmth again.

24/07/2025: I loved this spot!! I will dream about their blood orange drink. The meal (a salad) was flavorful and colorful! Both qualities that I always appreciate in food. The gals working, were working hard and were lovely! I enjoyed the location and orientation of tables outward towards the courtyard! This was a nice reprieve during an unusually hot afternoon!

15/03/2026: Went for a pork roast ad libitum evening with four other adult men. We got three servings (one bowl of pork at a time, about 2-3 slices per adult) spread over two and a half hours. Our order was forgotten a couple of times, and we had to remind them. The pork was ok, but the quality varied a lot between servings. They ran out of beetroot after the second serving. The parsley sauce was ok, but all salt was missing. The heat had gone off when we arrived, which they fixed after about 20-30 minutes. All in all, a boring experience.

14/03/2026: Fried pork ad libitum tasted good - unfortunately we had a bad experience with the service. It didn't really work. We were up several times because they had forgotten us or downgraded us. Not suitable for a group.
