17/01/2026: An immediate very average experience. I am very happy with McDonald's chili cheese tops but unfortunately I have had an experience of very cold food, both the burger and the tops part, which is really bad. Otherwise there is really no problem with them

27/07/2025: Stay away! I got their Club sandwich, and it was by far the worst sandwich I've ever had. It tasted like nothing. The chicken was tasteless, the avocado was unripe, the tomato was grainy, watery and tasteless, the pesto was tasteless, and the so-called pickled red onions were large, almost raw pieces. Oh my. They also don't have soda, only water and NODA (fruit-flavored Danish water).

08/02/2026: I was there for afternoon tea, it was very underwhelming, the sandwiches were dry and the portions were incredibly small, in addition the service was boring and uninspiring. The statue outside in front of Marienlyst was perhaps the highlight. We bought bubbles, which were served in a water bath and we had to pour ourselves.

02/02/2026: I had the pleasure of dining at Brasserie 1861 and chose their 5-course menu and it was a true taste experience from start to finish. We started with snacks, where the tin of pearls of trout roe, smoked creme fraiche and blinis in particular was both fun and refined, with a wonderful balance between the smoky and the fresh. The foie gras tart with blackcurrants and Madeira was intense and deep in flavor, while the caramelized onion butter with Manitoba bread was irresistibly delicious. The cold-smoked halibut with beets, mustard seeds and saffron was delicate and perfectly balanced light smoke, sweetness from the beets and an elegant touch of spice. The lobster with parsley root and apples was a highlight: fresh, creamy and with a lovely contrast between the sweet and the sour. The veal tenderloin with Jerusalem artichokes, walnuts and sherry sauce was incredibly tender and full of warm, deep flavours, a classic dish taken to a new level. The dessert with white chocolate, dark chocolate, burnt almonds and cherries rounded off the menu perfectly with both sweetness, bitterness and crunch. All in all, a complete experience with high quality, beautiful dishes and flavours that really played together. Brasserie 1861 is highly recommended for an evening where you want to treat yourself to good food and fine ingredients.

24/12/2025: Very bad experience today, Christmas Eve 24/12 at 22:30 in Circle K Espergærde. The employee was very unfriendly and rude in her way of speaking to us. She did not answer when we said hello. When we asked if she could heat the food we had bought, she refused. We also asked about the price of cocoa, and she just replied that she did not know and asked us to go over and look ourselves. Bad service and a very unpleasant experience, especially on Christmas Eve :(

28/08/2025: Read their latest inspection, poor hygiene and cleaning as well as poor food handling, green coatings on drawers for storing food, not exactly something that whets your appetite, besides they want an order of at least 350 kroner plus delivery to deliver. On their Wolt site the lunch menu is almost double the price! And well they don't answer the phone when you call and want to order, so the conclusion, disgusting, frivolous and expensive.

21/12/2025: Authentic US diner that served a really good burger with crispy fries and mayo. The vanilla milkshake was top notch.

24/10/2025: Have eaten their buffet Super delicious and live music. It was just playing.

21/01/2026: A classic tourist-friendly place and it was exactly what we were looking for. I can recommend the sandwiches where the breaded plaice was really good. A large strong one and a schnapps too 🙂🇩🇰

11/11/2025: It's one of the city's coziest places with coffee and TV and billiards and much more. At reasonable prices. When you come when they open. Then there is peace and quiet. You can do your studies here and you can do online work on a laptop. Great place to come.

11/01/2026: Visited the restaurant this summer and was very satisfied. Super good food and friendly staff! Got some delicious garlic bread before the meal. Will definitely eat here more times!
