12/09/2025: The only reason this restaurant gets one star is because of the location which is in the middle of the main street. We tried to order pizza with minor modifications, but that didn’t say well with the waiter (owner?). So I ended up ordering a Napoli pizza. While waiting for our pizza, the waiter was quarrelling with some other guests. The pizza was disgusting! It had too many dried herbs on top, it had cheap, green olives and it was full of olive oil. Cannot recommend this restaurant!
30/08/2025: Unfortunately, we were very disappointed today. We had to wait over an hour for our food and watched as guests who arrived over half an hour after us were already eating. We had a carbonara that didn't deserve its name. It was made with cream. There was no egg to be found anywhere. The panini was full of mediocre pesto and simply filled with oil. The drinks were 80% ice. All in all, we are very disappointed and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Despite everything, the service was very friendly and apologized several times for the delay.

07/04/2025: Really delicious sushi, unfortunately the meatballs I had ordered were very cold. Had given us a time when I was supposed to pick up at 7:45 PM, unfortunately I only end up getting my food delivered at 8:20 PM. A little bit of a learning experience when you don't get a little extra like an apology or maybe a message next time so you don't have to drive up and stand up and wait for 35 minutes.
02/03/2025: The food was as good as ever, the problem was mostly that they were understaffed. They said one of the chefs was off, so it took up to 30-40 minutes every time you ordered something to get to the table. Very disappointing.
Can recommend ordering from outside, it's much more efficient.

12/10/2024: Fantastic food in a wonderful ambience. Service top notch and the food is always amazing. We had lunch and happy about the lunch menu being smaller portions. It has always been a fantastic experience eating in this lovely restaurant.

30/08/2025: I found the miso ramen with crispy chicken very tasty. It's a really large portion, enough for both of us. The service was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere at Vaerftets Madmarked is really cool; I really like it here.

27/08/2025: The worst pizza ever. The base was wet and soggy, the filling was tasteless. It was worse than a store bought pizza.
The owner was in a good mood, but that doesn't make up for the pizza. .
16/08/2025: Italian place run by Italians, the waiter didn't speak Danish but was friendly and we still understood each other by speaking English, the pizza was good but a little too undercooked and the drink was a little watered down. A pleasant experience nonetheless

17/09/2025: Very cozy but a bit too expensive
07/09/2025: Reluctantly visiting Axelhus once again. Not to taint the memory of this once iconic dive bar … but the atmosphere is no more. Gone are downing “sets” in a cigarette smoke filled room, locals on piano and guitar, and unspecified open sandwiches.
On the positive side, the taps now feature To Øl and the menu has expanded a bit beyond the smørrebrød.
The sister bar - Axelbar is even better from a beer perspective. To Øl on tap, and in the fridge, alongside Brew York.
The town is going through changes. It’s inevitable.

09/08/2025: Unfortunately, the food is very disappointing. We had the Fiskefrikadeller, a Fiskefilet and s Stjerneskud. All was either completely tasteless or decidedly bad, as in tasted moldy. We came here two years ago when we were visiting Denmark and it was really good so it was a bit of an anticlimax. The setting is lovely though.
