23/01/2025: Ordered their Steak sandwich, but the meat was just some small dull gray lumps, between them were some lumps of fried fat. The bread was wet on the inside. That was all there was, without tasting without anything.

10/04/2025: It’s one of those places where you can tell the sauces are premade – disappointing, especially given the potential the place has. What really shocked me was seeing the server pour bleach down the toilet as they were closing, yet the toilet itself was visibly dirty. I kept hoping actual cleaners would come in afterwards… yuck. Such a shame, because the service was genuinely lovely.

One of.the best small italy not in Italy... i always visit this place when in Odense . As a Italian i can say that the quality of the food it's like at home:) always visiting with my wife and my son and we are always so happy to be there! 26/04/2025: A regrettable birthday dinner at Koi Sushi in Odense – a parody of Czechness We had been looking forward to a cozy and stylish birthday dinner at Koi Sushi, and booked a table a whole month in advance - with a friendly request for a flag and a good table. What we got instead was a thoroughly messy, impersonal and uncontactable experience, wrapped in noise and unexpected lemon ice cream. Already upon arrival we stood and waited confused - no one welcomed us. When we were shown to a table, by an otherwise friendly waiter, it was the restaurant's absolute worst: right by the door, where it drew in. No introduction, no explanation of ordering, a minimal sense of welcoming presence. We were just seated, and then we sat there – for ten long minutes – without any kind of attention from the staff. We had to go up to the staff ourselves and ask for help to start ordering. The flag? It appeared - but only 5 minutes after we got hold of the staff the second time. We asked for another table, and fortunately got it - despite everything. The service throughout the evening was characterized by a lack of overview. We think there were far too few people at work, which was particularly noticeable at the start of our visit. And now for some of the worst. The music was absurdly loud. It felt more like an attempt to look like a nightclub than a sushi restaurant. Conversation at the table was almost impossible. The atmosphere was stressful and rushed – all guests had to shout to hear each other. The food? A mixed experience. Some dishes were tasty, but several were decidedly disappointing. The biggest downfall was a uramaki with ebi – which should have been crispy and delicious, but instead was soft, slushy and downright unappetizing. In addition, an intrusive lemon ice cream, perhaps their take on teriyaki sauce, was poured over a large number of dishes - without it appearing on the menu at any point. It could therefore not be opted out, unless you knew in advance that you had to ask – which is both misleading and unprofessional. We left with a feeling of having been overlooked. It is both an "unfortunately for us" experience - but definitely most unfortunately for Koi. We will never come back and we will not recommend the place to anyone - especially if there is something to celebrate. A special occasion is drowning in lemon, uncoordinated service and far too loud magazine music.
