14/04/2025: Avoid the food pancakes. The beef and bacon pancake is just a mistake. They should stop serving that. The salad they serve is just bad and kitchen staff has no idea about presenting food on a plate. Make your food pancakes at home and the result will only be better. The omelet was okay, and so was the desert pancake with ice cream, pear and almonds.

24/08/2024: We were deceived! Expensive twin room with sea view was a scrub. Lack of ventilation, The door could only be opened halfway when the bed took over. Only one socket in the "room" and put a phone on charge, the door could not be opened. 🙈 A broken toilet for all rooms to share and a shower full of mould. We had ordered a room for two people and three dogs. The dogs had to sleep in the car because there was no room!

23/07/2024: I must say that I was a little disappointed when I arrived and saw that the room I was assigned was not what I had seen in the advertisements for the place. But Bornholm is one of the most wonderful places to spend a holiday.

30/05/2025: We got one of the best cinnamon rolls, we ever had! Coffee is also good! The best though is, that it is an authentic bakery with cute decorations of cows and mushrooms. 10/10 would recommend!

20/08/2024: I am amused by the horrified reviews from people who apparently didn't know what they were getting into until beforehand. I mean, the place screams 80s, time warp and old routines. I can easily talk about sourdough pastries from Andersen, Juno, Alice and Hart in Copenhagen, but none of them offer what Thorsen offers; a bit of the old days. The bread should preferably be weighed on a gram scale, smeared with Kærgården butter or 3-star salami and slathered in the corner of the mouth. And the dear baker Thorsen is based on those parameters. When reviewers write about 'Denmark's worst baker', it is because baker Thorsen is probably the last one left of his kind. When Thorsen turns the key, it is a farewell to a simpler time, where everything does not have to be measured and weighed and accounted for. I recommend visiting Bager Thorsen for the total experience of the 80s baker.

28/02/2025: It was ordered via the internet. It says immediate 30 min delivery. But when the order is through, they write 90 min. Calling and asking them where my food will go after 1 hour and 45 minutes. It is only being made. It is delivered over 30 minutes later than promised. Unfortunately, that was also the case last time, so you obviously have to accept that or not order. So over 2 hours after ordering.

17/05/2025: 5 rolls for 40kr the worst quality we have ever experienced. They want to make money their professional pride is completely absent.

04/02/2025: In our 2 weeks of vacation on Bornholm we were here 3 times, 2 times from Gudhjem, 1 time from Akirkeby. Bread, coffee, cake and cream cakes taste very good. The room is not suitable for a comfortable stay of several hours because of the garden chairs and the constantly ringing doorbell.

13/05/2025: Classic Irish inspired bar, with a nice selection of beer taps with classic industrial beers. If I had to come down to suggestions for things that would raise my rating of the place it would be if there were a few local beers on tap, when Bornholm has 5 or 6 local breweries that deliver a quality that is at least as good as Carlsberg and Tuborg's standard beer. In addition to this, I would probably come a little more often if all smoking took place outside and not in a smoking cabin that is not 100% effective. Even though I was not sitting very close to this cabin, I smelled cigarette smoke when I left the place after a single beer the last time I was there.

14/09/2024: Was there with camp school and would like to recommend the place. Good outdoor areas, good and proper food. (High camp school standard). Accommodating, service-minded and skilled owners with good knowledge of Bornholm. The rooms are as they are now in a hostel, but perfectly fine.

17/04/2025: Café Misty has a beautiful location and a sweet and service-minded young girl in the service, who was very welcoming. Unfortunately, that was also the only positive thing I can say about the experience. I ordered two cappuccinos and a piece of apple pie with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. The cappuccino was made on an automatic machine and you could clearly taste it – no espresso flavor, no creamy good steamed milk – just a boring cup of coffee. The cake had a strange, indefinable flavor that definitely didn't resemble apple pie, and even the ice cream, which is otherwise hard to mess up, had a weird aftertaste. All in all, it was a disappointing experience, with only the view and the sweet service pulling it up.
