01/08/2026: Nice and cozy brown tavern with a covered terrace and outdoor tables and chairs right next to the beautiful St. Paul's Church.

18/04/2026: Nice between pubs where you can sit outside under a tent. Even though it was raining it was cozy. It is located by St. Paul's Church. We were 30 on a pub crawl and bought jugs and were there for an hour. See my profile for more tips about Aarhus or other places

27/10/2026: Really good and friendly service. Delicious open sandwiches, we got 2 each and it was plenty. The food was deliciously prepared and tasted great. We will definitely come again Vh the 4 on tour

16/09/2026: The shop offers a wide selection of gluten-free pastries and bread. We opted for a cinnamon roll and a brownie, and both were delicious!

09/09/2026: Bakery with lactose- and gluten-free baked goods, suitable for celiac disease. Bread, rolls, and sweet pastries. Freshly baked goods, frozen items, and flour mixes for home baking. Friendly service and helpful advice. Unfortunately, on-site consumption is not permitted.

25/09/2026: A 10/10 experience from the very first minute to the last! The place looks amazing, with a super warm and welcoming design, and an attention to detail that really makes a difference. The food was simply fabulous. Everything was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right, and the presentation of the dishes was straight out of a magazine. The service deserves all the praise: the team was super friendly, attentive to every little detail, and very fast, without being intrusive at all. We felt extremely welcome. Everything was top-notch! We will definitely be back soon and recommend this place with all our heart!

20/09/2026: It's been a year since I visited Substans, and I've thought about the experience many times since then, which is why I'm sharing it now. The food was really good, but the wine menu was decidedly rude. The amount of wine doesn't match the amount of dishes at all. In addition, the wine was of exceptionally poor quality for the price. Finally, one of the "wines" was a beer. Yes, you heard that right... a beer from a can that costs 30 kroner to buy, and which was unbuttoned in front of you, so that you had no doubt that you were being ripped off financially. So it can't get more than 2 stars, even though the food was a good experience.

11/10/2026: Very satisfied. Two of us were gluten free and they had full control over gluten and alternatives.

I have visited you many times over the years, and the hallmark is always good food, good portions at very reasonable prices, and incredibly friendly service. A big compliment to Frederikke, who really gave fantastic service tonight. We will happily come back :)

28/10/2026: I don't know if this counts as a review but I was staying at a hostel in Aarhus that wanted to charge me 20 DKK for a cup of hot water coz I wanted to make some cup noodles and they and then there's this place - I came to buy coffee here but my credit card didn't work for some reason at that moment and the guy here just gave it to me for free saying "relax, it's just a coffee". At that point, I knew exactly what this place was 10/10 kind people ♥️

16/10/2026: Actually a nice place, it's just anything but accessible for people in wheelchairs due to the slope and "organic" tiling and uneven gravel surfaces that are inconvenient if it's wet and dark outside the door.

18/08/2025: A very nice café where all the tables seem to always be occupied. And rightly so, because they serve the most delicious rolls I've ever eaten.

16/08/2025: Great café with vegan dishes, some of the portions are very small. Not a requirement, and they don't even bring the menu (it says you have to order at the counter). The atmosphere and taste are top-notch!
