04/01/2026: The food is always top notch and the portions are lovely and large so you leave feeling full. Always polite service with a smile. The atmosphere is determined by the other parties of course. If they are noisy, there is a bit of unrest. If they are quiet and respectful towards other guests, then of course it is extra cozy.

06/03/2026: Have been on a guided tour of the castle. An exciting experience with lunch afterwards. Fantastic buildings and the history of the castle is well told. The many different owners and wars that were fought. The daughter in the wall, fell in love with the stable boy, ugh, scandal -
11/11/2025: Amazing place to spend a night. Welcoming staff and rooms had everything you need, nothing more. I recommend a stay in the castle and dining at the bistro. Ghost enthusiast’s dream.

02/09/2025: Super delicious lunch and very surprising area.
The cod with Jerusalem artichokes tasted great, but unfortunately we found a large piece of plastic in the dish. Not something you would expect from a restaurant of that class and was handled a bit indifferently by the staff.
Everything else was perfect!

25/09/2025: I can highly recommend it...even though we hadn't reserved a table, we got a spot for ourselves and our dog.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. The menu, which was only in Danish, was successfully translated into English for us so we knew what we were ordering. When we requested a medium-dry white wine, we were offered two glasses to try, which one would be suitable.
When the tapas arrived, everything was explained to us in English again.
We were completely satisfied. And the value for money is also good.
If we can make it...we'd gladly return.

31/08/2025: We were recommended the cheese market and have used it several times to buy sandwiches when we have guests over, really delicious freshly spread sandwiches and at an affordable price,
From now on we will buy sandwiches here and add our own herring and cheese, so it is affordable to have guests over and no leftovers to throw away👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
31/08/2025: I saw some very good smorgasbords and sandwiches. We were impressed by the quality of the food here. The service immediately switched to English almost perfectly and was extremely friendly. We always enjoy eating here!

We were on a motorcycle trip and when we were going to drive after the nice food, the motorcycle wouldn't start. The owner and staff were so nice and friendly and helped us with everything they could (jumping on their tongues) to get us going - and we succeeded. Thank you very much.

A little sour fact about their beverage selection: They have Belgian Trappist beer… on tap! 😀 The Affligem Double is especially tasty if you like that kind of thing.

08/02/2026: If you can ignore the worn appearance and somewhat tasteless decor, the place is, as my 15-year-old said, "a hidden gem!" We chose to have an early dinner to pass the time before taking the ferry and were greeted by friendly and service-minded staff. With expectations based on the appearance of the place, we ordered Wienerschnitzel and fish fillet with French fries, but were both very pleasantly surprised. The food came quickly and was piping hot, the schnitzel was made of veal, the potatoes were homemade and both were perfectly fried, and there was a nice portion of peas and good sauce. The fish was homemade breaded and the fries were crispy. So all in all, the place is proof that you should never judge a book by its cover. Because as my son muttered with his mouth full of good fries: "It's the food that counts!"
