10/09/2026: We were greeted at the door by the chef. Marco was incredible at serving and explaining the 6 course meal. Food was exquisitely curated in a perfect sequence. We asked about the aged garlic/lemon gel for the duroc and chef came up to explain. Not only that, he gave us a container with that sauce on our way out! Incredible experience!!

Very high noise level but that is also part of the concept. However, the amount of alcohol served is just over the top.

10/10/2026: The food is truly excellent, both in taste and quality. There are only a few, very good dishes to choose from, which makes deciding easy. The only downside is that the basement dining area feels a bit like a student apartment. The prices are very, very reasonable for Copenhagen. We especially loved the 1.5-liter soft drink for 40 DKK. You simply pay when you leave. Overall, we found it very good value for money. We highly recommend it.

27/09/2026: The food portions were very small, and honestly, nothing was truly special or memorable. The service was excellent, but the explanations about what the dishes contained were confusing. At 550 DKK per person, it’s very expensive for what you actually get, especially considering that drinks are not included. Overall, I don’t think the experience offers good value for money.

16/09/2026: We thought Møntergade was okay overall, but not quite as strong as we expected. The plaice with remoulade was very good and probably the best dish for us. The tartelet was also delicious, although the allspice came through a little too strongly. The chanterelle toast was disappointing because the chanterelles themselves didn’t have much flavor, and the chicken salad was just okay. Service was the weakest part of the experience. We waited a long time for our final course, the tartelet, which made the meal feel unnecessarily drawn out. It was also quite expensive for what is essentially open-faced sandwiches and traditional lunch dishes, which made the overall value feel weaker. There were definitely some good dishes, but overall we preferred Unique Living in Sweden and found the flavors there more memorable.

09/09/2026: There were six of us for lunch on a Monday in September, and the table was ready for us when we arrived. Once we had been seated, it only took a moment before we were provided with a menu. And the friendly waitress presented us with the day's blackboard menu (see photo). I decided on a piece of plaice with spicy crayfish salad and a piece of sliced ​​veal tongue with cream-stewed chanterelles and sprats. Along with a glass of IPA and three cl. Rød Aalborg. The plaice was fried crispy in the breading and juicy in the meat, and the crayfish salad was spicy as promised. There was no doubt that this was fresh fish. The second piece of smørrebrød was also delicious, but the sliced ​​veal tongue did not quite do its job because it was drowned out by the wonderful taste of the chanterelles. The service was friendly and competent. All in all, the visit to Restaurant Møntergade was a really good experience.

22/09/2026: Understandably they were busy but they forgot to make my drink. It’s very expensive, £5:38 for an oat latte, especially when it wasn’t made, is brutal. I had my own cup and it was placed on the coffee machine, under the espresso spout making me assume it was being made for the last 10 minutes 🥺😅 Stupid me. I noticed several others got their order that were behind me on the queue and even others that were way later than I was. Even they were already asking for their drinks and were being told theirs were next, so I didn’t want to add to the stress. Finally, at 15 mins I thought I’d be assertive and just ask for the cup now, surely it would have been done “brewing/spouting” at that time. Sadly, dry as the Sahara. Not a drop of coffee, forget about a crema 🙃🙃 They offered to make the drink that I already paid for. I haven’t got another 5 mins TBH. I had to catch a train. Literally, left a bitter taste in my mouth. It was such a bad experience. Would love to get a refund.

And have tried to drive far to get something to eat and had to turn around, because when they are the least bit busy they won't even take an order even if you want to wait. Really disappointed with their service. Have tried it twice now and don't think I will visit them again
