27/08/2024: Everything about this restaurant is exemplary. The setting, in an incredibly charming courtyard, is sublime. The service is outstanding. And the seafood! Extraordinary! As a starter my husband had the whole, cooked shrimp - he was ecstatic. My starter was the foi gras terrine- so good, creamy and flavorful. As a surprise my husband added a dozen oysters- HEAVEN! These oysters are from Portugal and fresh! They required nothing but a slight squeeze of lemon. Really lovely. As our main we each had the Dover sole. This was cooked perfectly. We also shared a bottle of wine from the Alsace region that was a perfect accompaniment. Desert was the evening special of profiteroles. Wow! Lest I forget, even the bread was out of this world! Off the “beaten path”, not a tourist in sight, THIS was the type of fine dining experience that makes a wonderful holiday exceptional. No doubt, when we look back on our days in charming, lovely Copenhagen, it’s this meal we will remember. Thank you, Josephine.

24/08/2024: The best stone crab! We had escargot and some spitzes as well. Their kitchen closes from 4-5 but we got our order and we stayed to eat. Fantastic service and very fair prices. Recommend this place!

14/10/2024: Horrible service. Steak was fair but expensive. Not a dining experience but rather a hassle at an expensive price. Had to aske 3x for waitress for missing food, more wine , clean table and dessert. This is on a night when they were 20% full at 8 pm. Desserts came… I guess this is what free chocolate from a gas station tastes like when fill up a tank of gas. Copenhagen has awesome restaurants this is not one of them.

04/10/2024: Recommended place if your come across or stay in the hostel next to it. Best and biggest sandwich ive ever had. Great breakfast. They sandwiches are freshly made and grilled for you.

15/10/2024: While the food was delicious and ambience beautiful, our service was terrible. And after reading the other reviews. I see we were not alone. Our server ignored us the entire night to the point where at the end of the evening, after waiting for 20 Minutes for our check and asking 2 other servers for it, we figured he must have disappeared because we never saw him again . he was nice and respectful when at the table, ie allowing us to try a wine before ordering it, but otherwise literally absent. To pay for a dinner like this I would expect significantly superior service. Also the limited menu with most items being for 2 people is frustrating-while the chicken was delicious. It’s not what i would have ordered if I’d had the option to order something different .

15/10/2024: Restaurant Barr is in a very cool building in a very interesting neighborhood. Just a short walk across a pedestrian bridge from Nyhavn. As we entered we were warmly greeted and seated in the rustic designed dining area. Exposed beams and wood topped tables. It was very crowded on a Monday evening, creating a nice vibe. We ordered a bottle of wine based on our servers recommendation. Then something happened with the service. Could have been confusion on which server was responsible for our table. Might have been caused by ordering wine from the person who seated us. In any case, our waiter appeared confused as to how/when and from whom we had ordered wine. After about 20 minutes not receiving our wine, our waiter returned to take our order. We asked about the wine and were told it was on its way. We noticed tables around us having wine brought to them and moving through their meal at a normal pace. We placed our dinner order, still no wine. Then, the person who seated us appeared with the wine. It provenance was explained brilliantly and the wine was very good. Confusion continued when she asked if we wanted bread and we explained we had requested bread front the other waiter. Starters, beef tartare and pancake with crab, along with the bread, were delivered and delicious. We then waited almost 40 minutes for our main course, while tables around us ate both their main and moved into dessert. We finally spoke to another waiter and explained our predicament, and our waiter appeared shortly thereafter and apologized. Once presented, our “pork schnitzel” was very good. So the food was an A. Something clearly went wrong with the communication between waitstaff and kitchen. Sadly, we depart beautiful Copenhagen and have no opportunity for a second chance.

22/09/2024: Always a nice casual hang here. I like that they keep the music low. Easy to chat with your friends that way. Good selection of beers, and they offer tastes, so low risk when ordering. Also a few standard cocktails like the dark and stormy. Very good burgers too (from the co-located Fattys). Note that you have the option of adding bacon and they have combos with fries.

22/09/2024: Great local place (although it seems as if there are a bunch of bootleggers around town). Fatty’s is somehow part of the establishment and for me it’s the Fatty’s /Bootleggers combo that does the trick. The chicken po-boy is a must-try. Wash it down with your favourite type of beer. Yum. Service is ok but not spectacular. Vibe is good helped along by - I guess it’d be rock from the dirtier side of the track?

25/10/2024: Called and ordered two dishes per phone. When I had to pick up, I was handed something wrong - when I said what I had ordered, they couldn't remember that I had called. 10 minutes later I got my food. When I got home I could then conclude that one dish was wrong. Stay far away.

22/09/2024: I thought it would be very expensive since it's near Nyhavn, but it wasn't. It seems like a place where you can have a decent meal while looking at a nice view. The quantity and taste of the food wasn't bad.
