27/07/2026: The new owner screwed it all up. I've been coming here for 20+ years, and I've always been satisfied, even though it never was anything special. But they were always friendly and let you do the "no tomatoes, a little more onion and lettuce" thing. It always was cheap kebabs, not so much anymore though, because that "owner" is just a really bad and unpleasant business manager, and I'm not coming back until he's gone!

28/09/2026: All in all a nice experience. But check the receipt for the water fee 😵 There was one person who ordered water with the food, it's a bit strange that on the bill you get charged 4x water ad libitum for a total of 480kr. That's maybe just strange enough!

20/08/2026: We arrived to sit down, and the owner made absolutely no effort to explain what meatless options he had. It was like we were bothering him... There was only one table for three, but a woman sitting alone had just sat down. He didn't lift a finger to ask her to move to another table. So we left. Honestly, the service was pathetic. We went across the street, and we have absolutely no regrets!

04/10/2026: Please turn down the music. The sound level is generally loud. They should do something about the acoustics. The food was tasty, but stop with the small portions. The waiters were nice enough, but quite unfocused and forgetful, and didn't know anything about the food.

26/09/2026: I have eaten at Lupo in Aarhus several times, but my most recent experience simply deserves its own review — and that is largely due to the waiter we had. I can hardly remember the last time I met a waiter who managed to elevate a restaurant experience from “really good” to something you actually go home and talk about afterwards. He was simply excellent. First of all, his Italian language skills were impressive. It wasn’t just the classic restaurant Italian, where you know a few names of dishes and wines. He had a naturalness and confidence in the language that made you really feel like you had been transported to Italy for a moment. He spoke with a passion and enthusiasm that made even the smallest details interesting, and his way of conveying Italian was both authentic, vivid and enormously charming. But what really impressed me was his knowledge of the food. He could talk about the dishes in a way that made them far more interesting than if he had simply listed the ingredients. There was a clear understanding of where the food came from, why certain ingredients were used, how different dishes had developed, and what role they played in Italian food culture. It didn’t feel like a menu being presented. It felt more like a little gastronomic lesson — but without ever becoming pedantic. On the contrary, it was incredibly engaging. You could tell he was genuinely interested in the food and its history, and that enthusiasm was completely contagious. He also had a very special ability to read the table. He was present without being intrusive, professional without being formal, and incredibly attentive without ever making it feel like a “service performance.” Everything seemed natural. You simply felt well taken care of. And then of course there’s the aesthetic aspect, which also needs to be mentioned. He’s a handsome man, to say the least. So handsome in fact that you can almost be distracted from the food — and that’s saying a lot when you’re sitting at Lupo. 😄 But most importantly, his appearance was just the icing on the cake of an already excellent experience. He had a charisma and a confidence that perfectly matched the atmosphere he helped create. In short: if Lupo already has great food, then this waiter was the ingredient I didn’t know the restaurant was missing. The combination of his Italian language skills, immense knowledge of the food and its history, his natural hospitality and — let’s be honest — his impressive looks made the visit something truly special. You can serve great food, but it’s people like him that make you want to come back. World-class service. 🇮🇹❤️

05/09/2026: I was there with my son on a sunday morning (we recently moved here). When we arrived there was what I would call a good amount of people. Not over crowded just like.... Expected I guess? We went in and got a seat because there weren't t too many people sitting inside. They handed us the menu card and we filled out our order. As I went back up to order our brunch one of the staff member shouted: We dont take more orders we are low in staff! (they were 3 staffmembers btw) I still handed them pur paper order we had filled out and had written "We would appreciate this order when you have the time :)" It was clear that she was annyed when I handed it to her. I still told her with a smile: Don't stress about our order. (We waited 2 hours) While we sat there I helped the staff clean the tables and finally our brunch arrived. Afterwards I had some pesto left but no bread. I kindly asked them If I could pay for 1 x piece of bread instead of a full basked of bread (because I couldn't eat that) and told them their pesto was too good to leave behind! She told me no you have to pay full price for a full basket (with no smile, just cold as ice really)... She charged me full price for that. Immediately regretted it. I'm aware that they have rules they are menat to follow but.... I just payed 344 DKK for the breakfast I waited 2 HOURS for, no complain and also gave them a FREE hand (that they didnt ask for I know) while yhey were running around like stressed ants, but just one tiny slice of bread was TOO MUCH to ask for, kust to make the most patient customer happy? Really??? We left with a very unsettling feeling and big after paying almost 400 DKK for a very disappointing service....

05/06/2026: I am a tourist, and we visited this branch with friends. We really enjoyed our drinks. I would particularly like to highlight the service provided by a tall, young man with blond hair. He was friendly, helpful, and smiling. Please commend him so that he has a great day.

04/09/2026: They charge 350 kr. per person if guests don't show up, but they treat a reservation as an inconvenient surprise. My boyfriend and I were ignored and given a lousy table in what looked like a cloakroom filled with bags and jackets. "We have company tonight!" was the voice of an employee. When we declined the cloakroom seat, the waiter seemed almost relieved and happy to get rid of us. Arrogant and amateurish. Now we're standing out in the rain on a Friday night and have to find an alternative. If they care so much about no-show fees, it should work both ways.
